works OK so far May 22, 2008 l2 (California) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought one of these for the $15 sale price. Grilled steaks a couple of times and it works fine so far. There are no instructions, but I agree with the recommendations that a previous reviewer listed. Don't use real high heat with any non-stick pan. Don't expect the non-stick coating on the bottom side to last very long - if you plan on using both sides, then buy 2 griddles. At $15 each, you can afford 2 of them. I did not need to oil the pan before use. Maybe I will have to as the coating wears off. I just soak the pan overnight and it cleans up easily in the morning with just a sponge and dish soap.
Don't buy at any price .. Everything sticks! May 16, 2008 J. Estrada (Oakdale, CA United States) 17 out of 21 found this review helpful
I bought this on sale for less that 15 dollars last week. It arrived today and I immediately put it to use. I fried a piece of boiled ham on it, and it immediately stuck. Using a plastic spatula, I tried to loosen the bits of ham that were stuck on. No luck. Then I tried washing it in warm water with soap. No luck. I tried the plastic spatula again, then grabbed a scrub brush. After literally 10 minutes of trying to get the "non stick" griddle clean, I gave up. I'm sending it back and asking for a refund. Betty Crocker should be ashamed of herself. Perhaps if she still had her products manufactured in the U.S. the quality would be better.
cheap, cheap finish May 13, 2008 C. Akin (Oklahoma) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The griddle side for making pancakes has the cheapest and poorest coating I have ever seen. I should have gone to the dollar store. There is obviously no quality control on this product. My son opened the package and tossed out the box before I looked at it, otherwise I would have returned this item.
worked great for me May 9, 2008 tvguyer (chicago, il United States) 8 out of 11 found this review helpful
now mind you this is not for cooking burgers, as you will prob. get a greae fire, these types of grills are great for chops steaks fish and veggies. cleanup is a breeze bought another to use as a dedicated griddle, can speak of longevity of the product but will update if the finish gives me an issue, I figure the fire side will prob. wear down so I got 2 just to make pancakes and othe stuff.
