Great Coffee Maker December 30, 2007 toyVersity (United States) I did not really enjoy coffee until I used this maker. I had a Senseo this coffee maker is so much better, hot,Fresh brewed coffee every day!
Many Great Features! December 26, 2007 N. A. Butler 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased this about a month and a half ago, and have been using daily since. Love the capability of being able to grind coffee beans, brew ground coffee, and low and behold, also brew tea! While tea bags are plentiful and easy to use to fix a "spot of tea," loose tea is somewhat more of a challenge, and this unit is ideal since it has its own tea brewing basket. Great unit and really good price!
Careful with that carafe!! November 21, 2007 OcalaFlaGuy (Ocala, FL) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is kinda weird, I'm filling out a review before I've even received the coffee maker I've ordered but I did run into what I think is an important point to consider for prospective buyers. I think we have all broken one of these glass carafes that come with these types of coffee makers. Usually, it's a trip to some discount store and $8-10 later, Bob's your uncle. Not apparently so with this unit. This unit isn't one of the "major more widely known" brands of coffee makers. None of the usual discount stores in my town carried just the carafe. I did a quick online search for a replacement carafe and the best deal I could find shipped was $20. That's 1/2 the price of the whole coffee maker! Perhaps one of the other brands carafes might work as a replacement but since the filter assembly fits inside the top of the carafe with this unit, that complicates finding a like fit with an other than factory replacement carafe. I thoroughly expect to enjoy this unit and thusly gave it 4 stars as to not adversly skew the ratings but you can bet even more than I would normally do so, I am going to handle that "gold plated" carafe with kid gloves! Just an important point I think someone considering this coffee maker should consider.
works well for a few months November 8, 2007 P. Johri (TX United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
i thought i would add my 2 cents to people who want to buy this. i did a lot of research before i ordered it, it was the perfect combination of grind and brew and it worked very well for 3-4 months. however, lately it became really slow and i noticed that most of the water is evaporating as steam. so i guess it is overheating the water, but this is a fatal flaw, if u are making 6 cups, u may not even get 2, and it'll take 15-20 mins.
Buy the Melitta Mill 'N Brew Instead! September 23, 2007 Camelot Kim (Rogers, AR) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Melitta MEMB1B Mill & Brew 10-Cup Coffeemaker, Black We bought the Sanyo Coffee/Tea Maker with Built-in Grinder after our Melitta Mill & Brew finally broke. We had purchased it at a Target store and when we went to replace it, they no longer carried it. So we looked at all the options on Amazon and thought the Sanyo sounded like a better coffee maker. WRONG! It is messy, complicated and has too many parts. We went back to the Melitta Mill & Brew and we won't switch again! It is very affordable and you don't have to transfer the ground beans to make the coffee. You just put the beans in, push the button and it grinds and brews the coffee automatically. Do yourself a big favor and skip the Sanyo and go straight to the Melitta...I promise you won't regret it!
