Amazon.com Product Description
The Polar F6 heart rate monitor is a great choice for using in large groups where other exercisers might be using wireless training gear that could interfere with your own signal. The F6's coded transmission prevents crosstalk with other monitors so you'll get a personalized workout--even in a class environment. It's packed with innovative training features to help you toward your exercise goals, including:ul libZone Pointer:/b A visible and audible feature on the display of your heart rate monitor showing your target heart rate zone and where your current heart rate is within that zone. libPolar OwnCal:/b This feature shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. You can set daily and weekly exercise goals in terms of calorie expenditure with the OwnCal feature. Because the OwnCal tracks both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the accumulated kilocalories during a longer time e.g. one week, it helps in achieving both short term and long term goals. libPolar OwnZone:/b This feature guides you through an appropriate warm-up routine and automatically determines a safe and effective exercise heart rate zone--your OwnZone--while taking into account your current physical condition. libPolar OwnCode:/b This technology blocks unwanted signals from other heart rate monitors, ensuring disturbance-free transmission of your heart rate data. /ulp The Fitness Bullets feature shows a bullet on the monitor's display for every 10 minutes spent exercising/training in your target heart rate zone. The Time in Target Zone feature calculates the amount of total exercise time spent in your personal target zone. You can use this feature together with the Total Exercise Time to determine the effectiveness of your exercise program. You can also better assess your training data using the included Polar Precision Performance (PPP) 4.0 software and the SonicLink feature, which wirelessly uploads exercise settings to the software or to Polar's web service.p Other features include:ul liDisplay of heart rate, exercise time and average heart rate li24-hour clock with day/week indicator and stopwatch liLarge easy-to-read display with split screen liOne-year average battery life liWater resistant to 30 meters (100 feet) /ulp strongManufacturer's Warranty/strongbr The original purchaser of this heart rate monitor is backed by a limited warranty that states that this product that the product will be free from defects in material or workmanship for two years from the date of purchase.p strongAbout Polar/strongbr The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.p

5 out of 5 stars IT IS AWESOME!!!   November 12, 2008

This is an awesome fitness tool. It is very accurate, easy to use, and comfortable to wear. It syncs with the gym machines so you can see your heart rate on the screen versus the watch...this is very cool for me. It also gives you weekly reports :o) I love it!!

1 out of 5 stars Poor display of heart rate   November 11, 2008

If you spin, this product is not for you. The display of the heart rate is very small (in relation to the time, stopwatch, other bells and whistles) and you cannot see it in a darkened room unless the backlight is on. You have to hit a button to illuminate with the backlight and it turns off again within seconds.

5 out of 5 stars great heart rate monitor!!   October 27, 2008

This item really does all it says. It keeps an accurate account of your exercise time, calories burned, min and max hr. It also keeps a weekly log that you can upload into free software that is located on Polar website. You can also set it for 3 different degrees of workout based on HR(easy med and hard). I really like it but the only thing I wish it had is an alarm. Otherwise very satisfied with watch and it motivates me to workout at my target HR.

1 out of 5 stars Not green - not well designed - beware   October 14, 2008

You can't simply enter what heart rate targets you want - it only gives you ones it makes up on its own. You even must enter what DAY you were born, before you can use it - preventing others from using it without loads of set-up time. It comes with a transmitter and strap you must THROW AWAY when the battery dies. How green! And expensive. If the watch strap breaks, you must BUY A NEW WATCH because the strap is unusual. Many of the features can't be used without additional software and trouble. Polar should be picketed for this unit.

1 out of 5 stars The worst purchase I have ever made!   October 6, 2008

Purchased this watch (men's black watch) and the Pink F6 for my wife. The watch I purchased was delivered (on time) in the factory box today. Set time / date etc. All looked okay. Put watch on wrist, then tried to remove from wrist. The pin that holds the clasp to the plastic band came out. Thought the pin may have not been securely in place, so I put pin and band back together, all looked okay. Again placed on wrist and again tried to remove, and again the pin and clasp came apart. In my honest opin this is a really cheap watch band on what I believe to be a fairly good watch. I would give ZERO STARS if that were possible. Wife's watch appears okay, she can remove from her wrist with no problems. The band on the ladies watch is more flexible, maybe that's the difference?
