Amazon.com Product Description Enjoy a superior cardio workout without leaving the house with the Nautilus NR2000 recumbent exercise bike. Boasting a smooth, super-quiet electromagnetic V-Force Plus resistance system and an industrial-grade Poly-V drive belt, the bike delivers a smooth pedaling performance that's designed to last thousands of miles. Further comfort stems from the commercial-grade molded seat and the extra-wide, self-leveling foot pedals, which combine to increase both comfort and control. More significantly, the NR2000 is equipped with all the essentials for cardio training, including six preprogrammed workouts, two custom programs, and two heart rate control programs that automatically adjust the intensity level based on your heart rate target zone (includes touch rate sensors and a wireless heart-rate transmitter belt). p It's also easy to monitor your progress thanks to the high-resolution, upgraded 16 x 16 dot-matrix course display and the four-window readout, which tracks your total workout time, distance, calories burned, and more. Other details include a high-inertia case flywheel that's precision balanced for an improved feel and reduced vibration; a built-in water bottle holder and reading rack; a low-profile, step-through design for easy access; and a 300-pound weight capacity. The NR2000, which measures 26 by 56 by 44 inches (W x H x D), carries the following warranties: lifetime on the frame, 10 years on the parts, and one year on the labor. p strongKey Features/strongul liCommercial grade molded seat offers superior comfort liLow profile design decreases step-over height and unnecessary bulk liExtra wide, self-leveling foot pedals increase comfort and control liSmooth, super-quiet V-Force magnetic resistance liHigh-inertia case flywheel is precision balanced for an improved feel and reduced vibration liIndustrial grade Poly-V drive belt ensures smooth pedal action and is designed to last thousands of miles liBuilt-in water bottle holder and reading rack offer added convenience liPlug-in LED console offers high-resolution 16 x 16 dot-matrix course profile display and a four-window readout /ulp strongSpecifications:/strongul liDrive Train: Poly-V belt drive liResistance System: Electromagnetic V-force Plus system liROC System liComputer Display Type: High-definition LED liPower Requirements: None (self-generating) liWorkout Levels: 20 liPre-Programmed Workouts: 6 liCustom Programs: 2 liFitness Test liHeart Rate Control Programs liHeart Rate Monitoring: Contact sensors and wireless telemetry liProduct Dimensions 55" L x 24" W x 44" H (140cm L x 61cm W x 112cm H) liMaximum User Weight: 350 pounds (159 kg) /ulp strongManufacturer's Warranty/strongbr Frame - lifetime, parts - 10 years, labor - 1 yearp strongAbout Recumbent Exercise Bikes/strongbr Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out.p The term irecumbent/i literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.p strongAbout Nautilus/strongbr Nautilus, Inc. is a pure fitness company that provides the tools and education necessary to help people achieve a fit and healthy lifestyle. With a brand portfolio that includes Nautilus, Bowflex, Schwinn Fitness, StairMaster, and PEARL iZUMi, Nautilus manufactures and markets a complete line of innovative health and fitness products through direct, commercial, specialty retail, retail, and international channels.p

| Customer Reviews:
A very happy customer - highly recommended September 10, 2008 G. White (Las Vegas, USA) The Nautilus NR2000 is a very high quality recumbent exercise bike that fills a gap between the less expensive products widely available to home users, and the much more expensive commercial grade equipment commonly seen in health clubs. The NR2000 offers heart-rate controlled programs and wireless telemetry just like the fully featured health club machines, but won't look out of place in even the most fashion-forward home environment. I did run into a few minor glitches during assembly, but comparing the written instructions with the parts drawings and the actual parts revealed that the drawings and bike as shipped were accurate and in agreement; only some of the narrative was misleading. In using the bike, I found that the hard plastic pedals were slippery and my feet would creep and slide off the pedals no matter how tightly the supplied straps were adjusted. Instead, I equipped the bike with a pair of 1/2" male to 9/16" female pedal adapters (Kneesavers) and a set of Look-style clipless pedals. Wearing rigid sole cycling shoes with Look-compatible cleats, my feet snap right into the pedals and stay comfortably in place even during vigorous exercise. Although I had to invest another $150 or so to make the bike work well for me, I still consider it a very cost-effective investment considering the years of service and health benefits it will undoubtedly provide. And as always, the purchase from amazon.com was painless, including the best experience I've ever had with a truck freight delivery to my home. br / br /Pros - br /Stability, silent operation, flexible programs, cosmetic appearance, perceived quality br / br /Cons - br /Pedals (comparable to competing products), requires external power (some machines generate power from the user's activity), assembly instructions should be updated/corrected
NAUTILUS NR2000 DEFECTIVE August 16, 2008 E. Potts (MA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Purchased NR2000 online thru Amazon and price was less than other sites on web and qualified for free shipping--that was the good part. The assembly instructions were incorrect and the listed screws needed to attach plastic cover on front end of bike was wrong size and they had included the correct size screw without telling you of their error. Consequently,I contacted customer service by phone and told them screw listed was missing and they instructed us to send an email thru product registration and assigned me a registration number and told me they would then ship the "missing screws". They never responded to the email and after a few days we decided to proceed with the rest of the assembly and discovered their error and attached cover with the smaller screws they had supplied without explanation of their use. Worse of all after finally assembling bike we tried to attach power cord and discovered the attaching piece for power cord inside the bike could not be seen on front of bike and was bent off to side. We could have returned it but it would have ben a major hassle after assembling the bike. Instead I was able to bend the defective metal inside front casing back to its proper position with some effort and reassembled front casing and the bike seems to work fine.I expected a higher quality product from nautilius and better customer service--I am sure this was not the first time people called them about this problem and they at the least should have included a supplemental instruction note to correct their assembly book errors or better yet write a new instruction book.

The bike works great. Exactly as advertised. Putting it together took about an hour and was pretty easy. Everything fit together perfectly.
