Product Description Vegetable Glycerine has a rich oily texture, but is water soluble. Because it is derived entirely from vegetable oil, it is hypoallergenic and safe for all cosmetic purposes. NOW brand vegetable glycerine is pure enough to be taken internally. Guaranteed.

Make your own skin lotion November 14, 2008 astro (usa) I have dry skin, particularly in the winter time, and this product is great for creating an inexpensive and effective moisturizer. br / br /My solution has 1 part vegetable glycerin to 2 parts distilled water, a dash of fragrance oil is optional. I just put it in a pump dispenser. br /You can cover a large area with just a couple of pumps. br / br /I have a separate pump of aloe gel as well, and sometimes I mix some together right before applying. Since there are no preservatives in this, I wouldn't recommend putting the aloe gel in the glycerin mixture itself.
Took ages to arrive, but.... September 7, 2008 Kevin Salerno 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After a saleswoman with way too many lattes in her system stopped me at a mall kiosk and almost wrestled me into washing my hands with some salt exfoliant goo for a mere $35 a dollop, I began to think. Why not mix up a batch of this stuff myself. (It was a good product....but $35 for an ounce of sea salt goop?) I approached it like a high school experiment and thought Glycerine might be a good base so found this on Amazon. Long story short, after getting dead sea salt and a few other ingredients it produced an amazing concoction. Look for it on a 3 a.m. infomercial soon! Anyway, it took way too long for the glycerine to arrive but it is a good product.
Very useful, versatile product August 26, 2008 Husker Du (Dime Box, Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've used this, mixed w/ about half water, as a skin moisturizer, great when you first get out of the shower, for years now. Found it also works well for the dry throat you get sleeping in winter or taking any sinus medicine. It has a slightly sweet taste and keeps the throat moist. br / br /Found another use in finishing wood. I wanted a colorful paint "stain" and tried paint mixed w/ water, but it would dry so fast that it left lines on the wood. Found a mixture of 1 part each paint, water and glycerin was perfect, stays damp long enough to rub it in. Coat with a light poly and you have a unique finish that colorfully shows the wood grain and costs a fraction of pre-prepared stains. And totally customizable. Of course it only works with water based paints.
Order in advance, nice quality May 15, 2008 NancyFancy (Yarmouth Port, MA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am using this for making my own mouthwash. It is of a very nice quality and comes in larger containers, which I like. It took several days longer to receive than indicated, and the vendor did not respond to my email. But, for me, it is well worth the wait. I will order again and not worry if it doesn't arrive on time.

This product took a very long time to arrive. However, it is just as described by the seller. I am using it to make liquid dishwashing soap, and it is perfect for that purpose. Next time I will have to remember to order well in advance!
