Great Item November 11, 2008 Carl Johnson (Sunnyvale, CA) I use this on a regular basis now to feel awake. I don't use it at school, as there are interesting things going on at school unless if you're in a library. I take a scissor and cut each of my pills in half to break it down and I chew on it.
It works July 19, 2008 cd-555 (Las Vegas, NV United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It keeps me awake when I need to be and I think it disturbs my stomach less than coffee does. The bad thing is that there is no fun in taking a pill of caffeine rather than a drink, and that's why I mostly drink diet coke now. On the other hand you can't keep coke or coffee in your poket for whenever you need it. I also avoid taking these pills because I usually need to stay awake just for a few hours and then go to sleep, but with these pills the latter is sometimes impossible. I am trying to take halfs and quarters of a pill now.
Caffeine supplementation speeds up your metabolism. Control what goes in your mouth, and you'll benefit from the use of caffeine March 11, 2007 reaganrpblcn (Van Nuys, CA United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This review is for the actual product itself, and not a statement on caffeine and it's use for dieting. At 100 tabs for around $6, this is a bargain. I've used it for staying awake during long rides home and for long periods of study and work, where time is of the essence. I haven't seen as many people b___ and complain about the consumption of coffee as I have about caffeine tablets. As to why people b___ and complain about the use of caffeine tablets in place of coffee is beyond me.
Caffeine Supplementation is Not a Good Weight Loss Plan September 30, 2005 James Koenig (Minnesota) 3 out of 20 found this review helpful
Caffeine has an energizing effect on the central nervous system, as it is a stimulant. A typical cup of coffee has about 100 mg of caffeine. Caffeine is used in several supplements, those being weight loss products and "stay alert" products, such as Vivarin. br / br /In doses of 100-200 mg, caffeine can increase alertness, relieve drowsiness and improve thinking. The average person in the US consumes about 200 mg of caffeine per day through coffee drinking. br / br /Like any "drug", caffeine is not without its adverse effects. At doses of 250-700 mg/day, caffeine can cause anxiety, insomnia, nervousness, hypertension, and insomnia. Over 1000 mg/d can cause tachycardia, palpitations, insomnia, tinnitus, and cognitive difficulties. More than 10 grams of caffeine is lethal. br / br /Ironically, caffeine can make it more difficult to lose weight because it stimulates insulin secretion, which reduces serum glucose, which in turn can increase hunger. For this reason,(and other medical reasons as well, it is hard to make a case for promoting the use of caffeine as a weight loss product. I'd avoid this product if your intent is to lose weight. br / br /Jim "Konedog" Koenig br / br / br /
