Priva Protector October 30, 2008 E. K. Moseley (AZ USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very large waterproof pad that is APPROX. 36 inches by 36 inches. It has an anti-fugal and anti-bacterial lining with a surface that wicks the moisture away from the body. The lining sould last for over 2000 washings. You may use bleach and a dryer for laundry. It states it will hold 1800 cc of liquid or about 5 cups. It does. br / br /I can highly recommend for children or adults. If using with someone who has sensitive skin I would not have them use it directly against them but put it under a sheet or towel. This would make a wonderful pad to carry in a diaper bag (to lay on a couch) to change a baby on.
Best for the Price---Have Tried the Others August 13, 2008 WorkPlayRead (NC) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This really is the best sheet protector we have bought! br / br /When we brought my mother home from the hospital (back in 2001) a sheet protector was supplied by her nurses. Due to the combined effects of a hemmorrhagic stroke and Alzheimer's Disease, Mother had difficulty holding her bladder overnight. Many times the Depends she wore would leak around the legs and she would be miserable until we could get her gown, bed and pad/protector changed. That hospital-supplied protector was a life-saver. It was so well-made and fully quilted that the bed sheets rarely got wet. br / br /However, after multiple washings over the years, we needed some back-up. We decided to go for the "best" protector made, and spared no expense. The primary problem has been that the ones currently on the market are not thick enough nor "fully quilted" to the protective backing. The slip-slide effect frustrated Mother---and sometimes left a mess for us. br / br /Although we've not found a protector of the same high quality supplied by the hospital (and are told that "they just don't make them that way anymore") the Priva Premium brand has been the best we've tested. We tried two: the Priva Premium Waterproof Sheet Protector, Mint and MedLine's Sahara Quilted Washable Underpads, 34x36 in., Absorbency 50 oz., Each. While the Sahara cost more and covered a slightly larger area, the Priva Premium has held up better in the washing machine and on the bed. It really does hold more that the 6-cup capacity advertized! br / br /Plus, the green quilted layer wicks the moisture away from Mother so that she can feel comfortable if overnight leaks occur. It even absorbed (and wicked away) the dampness from Mother's nightgown! We are so pleased with this product that I just ordered several more. Unfortunately, we have to wait until more are "in stock." Our personal opinion is that the Privia Premium Mint is the best on the market.
exactly what we needed May 16, 2008 Raquel Raygosa (union city, ca usa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was exactly what we needed for my elderly dad who was having problems with his bladder. It works great.
Priva Premium Waterproof Sheet Protector December 29, 2007 B. Walker (NE Pennsylvania) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use the sheet protector under the fitted sheet to protect the waterproof mattress cover on my husband's hospital bed. I also use a "tuck under" waterproof pad on top of the fitted sheet. I would recommend this protector. As described it doesn't slip. Priva has great quality items. Would definitely recommend for bed-bound people.
Expensive but worth it! November 12, 2007 Terri Mueller 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This holds quite a bit of liquid and keeps it away from the skin. Washes well and doesn't bunch up. Expensive but worth it - bought one and decided to get two more.
