Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description

Seventh Generation Chlorine-Free Diapers offer soft, cloth-like comfort and feature stretchy leg gathers and closure tabs. In addition to keeping baby dry and reducing the risk of diaper rash, the absorbent polymer in these diapers is non-toxic and non-irritating to baby's sensitive skin.

All-Natural Natural Comfort for Your Child
Seventh Generation Chlorine-Free Diapers are made with your baby and your environment in mind. The chlorine-free materials and absorbent polymers used in the diapers help keep your baby dry in between changes and through the night. In addition to being effective at keeping baby dry and reducing the risk of diaper rash, studies show that the absorbent polymer used in the diapers is non-toxic and non-irritating to baby's sensitive skin.

Hypo-allergenic and offering soft, cloth-like comfort and premium absorbency, these diapers are made of chlorine-free absorbent materials that do not contribute to dioxin pollution. They feature super-stretchy resealable closure tabs and super-stretchy leg gathers that work to provide your baby with a comfortable, safe, close-fitting thin diaper.

Why Does Chlorine-Free Matter?
Your choice of our chlorine free diapers could help reduce cancer rates. Your choice of chlorine-free diapers helps reduce the amount of dioxin polluting our air, water and soil, and helps make the world a safer, healthier place for your family and generations to come.

When chlorine and chlorine derivatives are used in industrial processes (such as bleaching paper and wood pulp), they produce substances called chlorinated hydrocarbons, which persist in the environment, accumulate in animals and people, and can be toxic to human and environmental health. The production of chlorine can also release the toxic metal mercury into the environment.

If every household in the U.S. replaced just one 40-count package of conventional diapers with these chlorine-free diapers, we could avoid 133,000 pounds of pollution from entering the environment.

About Seventh Generation
Seventh Generation offers a complete line of natural household products designed to work as well as their traditional counterparts, but use renewable, non-toxic, and phosphate-free ingredients as often as possible, and are never tested on animals. Seventh Generation products are healthy and safe for the air, the surfaces, the pets, and the people in your home--and for the environment outside of it. Every time you use Seventh Generation products you make a difference by saving natural resources, keeping toxic chemicals out of the environment, and making the world a safer place for this and the next seven generations.

5 out of 5 stars Great wipes!   July 17, 2008
These wipes work really well, and without the use of harsh chemicals. I highly recommend them!

5 out of 5 stars Great!!   July 15, 2008
These are great diapers. No leaks or messes. Safe for baby without chlorine and other harsh ingredients of other white chlorinated diapers on the market.

4 out of 5 stars Overall great diapers, but poor redesign and very delayed "subscription" shipping recently   July 13, 2008
The good:

We use the stage 4 diapers, and have been using Seventh Generation and singing its praises since stage 1. I love that they are chlorine free.

The bad:
Recently they redesigned the tabs to be larger at the base (on the back) and narrow at the end (where it attaches to the front), and are also shorter, meaning that it's harder to put the diaper on securely, and they don't fit as well (although they don't leak unless they're /really/ full).

Secondly, they have decreased the number of diapers per package in the last month or so, from about 36 or 38/package to 30 per package, and they have also increased the price per case as well.

Finally, we joined the "subscription" program a few months ago, where you get a discount for subscribing to an automatic-order of at least one case per month. I recently discovered, however, after buying diapers one pack at a time at the store, and hoping the diapers would arrive any day, that my "subscription" orders are a full 5-7 weeks back-dated on shipping, which really annoyed me, especially as I didn't receive any notice that they would be delayed so severely, or at all.

Summary:
It would have been five stars, except for the recent design change and the subscription problems.

3 out of 5 stars Good diapers 90% of the time   July 11, 2008

90% of the time these diapers do a great job; however, they can leak if not changed pretty frequently. That's not a big deal when we're around the house but if we're out and about it can be a problem. I would definitely not use these at night. I'm not talking about leaking around the legs or up the back (I've never had a problem with that), but rather soaking through the diaper itself. Not only will my little guys clothes get wet, but they will also take on a "poopie" smell if I don't catch a poopie diaper right a way. I still prefer these over other diapers because they are chlorine free but I'd like them better if they didn't leak.

5 out of 5 stars They work great! Try them!!   July 11, 2008
I would rather provide my child chlorine-free diapers if there is a slight risk of cancer from chlorine in regular diapers. Before you start rolling your eyes, thinking granola girl, please know we did try Pampers and Huggies too. We've alternated between brands during the various stages of growth, mainly when we ran out and didn't have access to buy 7th Gen. These are just as absorbant and worked perfect for us. Yes, we get the "why are the diapers brown?" annoying questions, but it just helped us educate others to buy more green products!!! I also like how they don't have any perfume smell.
Highly recommend the Seventh Generation diapers AND wipes!!!
