5 out of 5 stars Great Deal!   August 26, 2008
Earle Hartshorn (Bovey, MN United States)
I wanted an inexpensive point and shoot. I had a few requirements: No moving lens (seen too many with dirt-jammed mechanisms), Charge from mini-USB (like my cell phone; I have chargers in my cars, at home, at work) good viewfinder, and use large SD cards. This one wins on all counts. I've taken over a thousand pics and 30+ minutes of video now. I was not too sure how the viewfinder screen would work, but it is bright enough to use outside in sunlight. I haven't run out of power yet. I like the way switching from optical to digital zoom works: When you press the button, it zooms (by steps) to max optical zoom, then you need to take your finger off the button and press it again for digital zoom. Since I rarely want to use digital zoom this is a nice feature for me. Get one while you can!

5 out of 5 stars Get this camera while you can!   August 16, 2008

HP stopped making digital cameras, so definitely buy this while it's still available. It is compact, easy to use, and takes pictures of excellent quality. The zoom is awesome, and the extra "artistic" features are a lot of fun to play around with. So worth the money!!

5 out of 5 stars great quality   August 2, 2008

Even though I didn't buy this camera through amazon I just wanted to write how great it is. The zoom on the camera works really well, plus I like how it doesn't actually have to protrude from the camera, the viewing screen is big, viewing pictures is quick and easy theres none of that extra stuff like some digital cameras I've had where it's hard to find what you're looking for because there's so much stuff on the borders or it takes forever for the pictures to show. There are different modes like sunset, action, close-up that adjust the picture for you...theyre easy to use and actually work well! Its just a no-clutter camera, things are easy to use, easy to find. Plus, if you buy the hp printer that hooks up to this camera you can adjust/ print your own pics anytime you want even though you have to buy the photo paper but it's not a bad deal if you just want to print a few. I was really surprised overall how great a camera it was especially because hp isn't really known for making digital cameras. Its definitely a great buy especially for the price.

4 out of 5 stars HP Digital Camera   May 28, 2008

The price was terrific on this item, plus, an extra bonus---free shipping. I'm not qualified at this time to give a complete review, as I've yet to print out pictures or download onto my computer. I plan on doing that soon. I think the image quality is good and I like its image- enhancing features. As a first time owner, I believe digital cameras definitely have their own niche; however, I'm beginning to realize film cameras should never become obsolete; I believe, in the end, they produce better quality pictures. I imagine, too, in the final analysis, price plays a big role. I am happy with the camera and have no regrets about purchasing it. In fact, I'm having a great time filling up my memory card with images of my avacado tree in bloom (pretty good for living in a temperate climate), and my flower and berry gardens as they grow.
