Not very happy with the product September 6, 2008 Ashish Borkar (NJ, USA) I have used the iPod for over 4 years. This time when my ipod conked, I thought I'd try the Sansa after checking some reviews. I am not very happy with the product. The transition from iPod to Sansa left a bad taste and I would still favor the iPod both for the sound quality and the ease of use. The only area that the Sansa beats iPod is probably the price.
Love my fuze! September 3, 2008 T. Foreman (Missouri) I've had my fuze for almost 2 weeks now and I am loving every minute of it!
Great Improvement over Sansa c260 series August 31, 2008 DrDLST (Washington, DC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is my third 4 GB Sansa (Not quite ready to go into iPod land yet!!). I gave my first one to my son and then bought another. The previous generation was a good entry level for me since I usually would use it when I am traveling by air or train for long trips. I don't use it every day, so I did not need 80 or 120 GB of music. So my comparison is only based on Sansa models. The previous model c260 was a great mp3 player. The visuals were excellent, accessing the menu was easy and moving between songs was a breeze. Eventually, after calling tech support when I first got it, I was able to sync with ease, as well. However after a while, the second c260 began to freeze when I would try to get certain songs. Eventually, it would freeze and not turn on. There was no predictabilty to this, so often times when I needed it, it was just "not there for me".:-( The Sansa Fuze has taken it to the next level, but not yet to the top. I had no problems syncing it with my computer, the same visuals are there bright and shiny, and the sound is still great. It is very dependable and comes on quickly and easily, no freezing, at least not yet. The ability to record, listen to FM radio, display photos and watch video is wonderful. (Although I have not used the video portion, everything else is good). Support Services are still pretty reliable and courteous. One thing I like about the Sansa models is the ability to add more memory using a removable Micro-disk Sansa memory card. (They have them up to 8 GB now, but 4 is sufficient for me). This allows me to organize and change my music files, my photos, etc for use as I need it. Most of the challenges are with the external set-ups of the player. First, it is a bit difficult turning it on/off by moving the button on the side..you need to have fingernails to make certain it comes on and does not lock. The menu button is on the top right rather than the bottom left. It just took a little time to re-train my brain. Nevertheless, I don't think that makes much of a difference. The only significant problem I have with it is that the earpiece plug is now on the bottom of the player instead of the top. Since most of the generic mini-carrying cases don't an opening at the bottom, the mp3 player must be placed in it in the upside down position with the earpiece coming out. The last difference is that the Sansa Fuze does not come with a lanyard opening or lanyard; so you can't use it as a camera on a chain or even around your neck with the necklace type. Overall, it is a great piece of equipment that serves its purchase, providing us with great audio and video (probably) at a great price. I will probably keep using the Fuze until I need something that it doesn't have. If you're not wedded to Apple...give it a try.
Sansa MP3 August 29, 2008 Samuel F. Jones (Parkside, Pa. United States) SanDisk Sansa e260 4 GB MP3 Player with SD Expansion Slot (Black) This mp3 player is great, it holds about a thousand songs and very easy to operate.
Is it Sandisk or is it Amazon? August 27, 2008 Ka Ng (Minnesota, USA) Hi, I purchased this Fuze player because I got tired of my old Creative Muvo. I gotta say, this is one pretty amazing player. But the player Amazon sent me was not because I noticed immediately when I turned it on, it has tons of tiny glitter-like dots on the screen. I started to seek help wondering if this is normal. I later found out that the sides of the screen were not fully closed and caused some dust to get into the screen. I had the return this for another Fuze but found it had the exact same problem. I don't think I'll be getting another one of these. Pro: Good quality music Easy navigation Great blue ring around the wheel Light-weight Con: Wheel does not respond sometimes Bugs in micro SD card slots where the computer doesn't recognize the card when it was already inside the Fuze Bad quality, TWICE Anyway, if it isn't for the dust in the screen, I would have probably kept this player.
