Good for movies and games - Not for music November 10, 2008 V. Mahajan (Jacksonville - FL) My main purpose was to have nice computer speakers for listening music. I am a fan of conventional music systems (one with big speakers). But the way BOSE has advertised their systems I decided to give a try to this system. br / br /I bought this product and used for a week. Still I am trying to find some reason that I should not return it. It is a good system. But actually it does not have anything special which generally people expect from BOSE. It does not have any direct reflecting speakers or wave guides etc. but its amplifier is real good, it produces all frequencies precisely. br / br /The sound quality is good, and its very crisp clear. The main problem is that it lacks mid range frequency response. Even if you increase its volume you will not get that punch which other conventional music systems gives. Also my room is not very big one, but when we go 7-8 feet away from system we can here very less mid-range frequency response, we just hear lot off low frequency bass produced by woofer(something like hump..hump..) and high frequency notes. Also when the volume level is about 30-40% and we listen some music, the bass produced by woofer gives a headache after some time. br / br /Well, if you just like to watch movies sitting in front of your computer then you might like this system. Also this system is good for games but not for music. If you want something smaller for music then buy some shelf speakers of some good brands. br /
Great set of multimedia speakers. November 3, 2008 Stanton M. Daries (Tampa, FL United States) Any concern I had at paying $250 for a set of 2.1 speakers instantly evaporated when I hooked these guys up. The sound quality is absolutely amazing, something I guess that shouldn't be surprising giving Bose's reputation. br /
Very nice speakers October 17, 2008 amyd3731 (Memphis, TN, USA) I'm not an audiophile, and confess that I bought these from QVC several months ago. I've really enjoyed them and now listen to my music through my computer. Was so impressed that I just purchased the Bose Wave Radio/CD.
My First Experience With Bose September 27, 2008 A. Liles (Texas, USA) I was at a loss in my search for quality speakers to use on my computer that had two audio inputs before I found this set. I have always been put off by Bose because of their prices but having little other options I decided to go for it. My immediate impression of these speakers was eloquent cosmetic design and sturdy construction. The volume remote plants its self firmly on a smooth surface and is very easy to operate even in the dark. It has a second input next to the headphone output on the remote which I prefer to be on the back of the sub with the primary input but that's only for my personal setup. The sound overall won't fill a room but it has a very spacious effect to it which makes it perfect for a computer area. The cut off between the sub and the satellites is so seamless I honestly can't tell the sound is coming from the sub. The low tones from this unit are detailed and well produced and do not simply, "thud" like so many other multimedia speaker systems do. The mids and highs are crisp without being too bright, and the sound is well balanced with multiple sounds played at once such as band or rock music. All music played on it has warmth and depth and is enjoyable to listen to, which is primarily why I bought this unit. I appreciate the unit's internal transformer because this helps keep my work area less cluttered. The only possible negative aspect to this unit's design is that it seems to be picky about power. If your power supply fluctuates or has a poor ground this amplifier will reflect it. I personally did not have a problem with this but still recommend plugging it into a UPS unit for clean power. That goes for your source as well because any amplifier can only do as well as the source you provide it with. In short; don't blame the amp for the wiring as other reviews have done. I am very satisfied with this product, however and may give Bose another chance on my next speaker purchase.
Wow, incredible September 25, 2008 Matt Allmand (Holdrege, NE United States) Incredible sound. Hard to listen to without smiling. We are so glad we put this on our computer, our primary tv. I will look at Bose first for any other speaker needs. br / br /It is hard to describe the clean high quality sound, no absurd lows, just perfect sound. br / br /Matt
