Good but.... October 7, 2008 R. Karst (Los Angels, CA USA) The NUVI is a good PND, however, its not perfect; love the larger screen but the maps do not show the street I live on. Further, should you not take the advised directions (say you go in driveway B, but the devise wanted you to take driveway A, it has a conniption fit and you might as well restart the device, it just can't handle that you arrived at the correct place in the (debatably) wrong way. Those points aside, the devise processes information quickly with little lag, you won't miss your next turn unless you decide to (which the device will quickly recalculate). For the price, I am disappointed that it did not include CD (maps), carrying case etc... Downloading map updates is a real drag even with high-speed internet, the companies servers appear to default to 56K it took all night to download and update my NUVI!!!!! I really like what the DASH Express is all about but I'm afraid it's not ready for prime time yet, so in the meantime, NUVI is about as good as it gets - 4 stars.
Excellent! October 6, 2008 N. Lo We bought this GPS in Sept 2008. The function, direction, voice prompt are just excellent. Very accurate! The best is that it prompts you with the street name instead like "making a left turn in 100 feet" etc. As for downloading the updated 2009 map. At first we were having a hard time to just register & download but finally we figured out how to do it. It is just kind of tricky. I think Garmin should review & improve thier downloading program. Otherwise, this product is just excellent!
Driving made EASY October 6, 2008 Thomas L. Rabbeth Sr. (LaGrange, KY USA) This has made finding where you are going alot easier. The quality is excellent.
Great for the $$ October 5, 2008 Jason Grunder For the money I would buy this product again. Easy to use and install with the mount provided. Easy to follow instructions. I would like the volume to be louder - hard to hear at max volume in a large vehicle (Ford F-250) as the unit sits a ways away.
Garmin nuevi 650 Review October 3, 2008 Harry R. Bauhaus (Severna Park, MD USA) The Garmin nuvi 650 was really fun to operate/use. It really works. It definitely requires a 2 person operation. On the down side, when it said to take a right/left turn, it sometimes was confusing if more than 1 turn was in front of you. Saying to "turn in 300 feet", when another turn was in 50 to 60 feet further, cause some hesitation before turning. I think this problem will be resolved by more usage of the system. Overall an excellent product.
