5 out of 5 stars Easy to install and use.   September 2, 2008
Leslie Ann Lewis (San Antonio, Texas)
Despite my concerns about mounting my precious flat screen on the wall, I agreed when my husband suggested this purchase as it would enhance the look of our television room. It was very easy to measure out where it needed to be and took just a few minutes to install. There was no problem attaching the television (40"). We have been using it for a few weeks now with no issues and we do not anticipate any.

3 out of 5 stars Wall Mount for flat screen TV   September 2, 2008
Thomas C. Stoddard (Wilmington, NC United States)
Okay, so this seemed easy to put up, certainly, from the beginning.

I got the wall fixture mounted, finally. The instructions recommended a 5/32" drilled guide hole for the screws into the studs, but the screws were quite outsized (I'm guessing to make sure that there is a good solid joint to the stud) and I found it very difficult to screw in those anchor screws. The screwdriver would slip out of the slot without advancing, and I had to resort to wrench or ratchet socket to finally get the screws in. You may want a larger drilled (3/16") guide hole, with, what I would percieve no loss of strength.

Then, with the brackets attached to the TV, they were supposed to adjust for tilt, but I had a dickens of a time getting them to finally loosen up and the one frame piece pulled out from the other frame piece to achieve the tilt (spent over 45 minutes just getting that done.)

Then, when mounted on the back of the TV, came the next adventure of placing brackets to wall fixture. We were placing our TV to a higher position in the room, and on ladders, it was hard for my wife or I to see back behind the TV to locate the track, and to find and tighten the security screw. I've seen those articulating fixtures, and I gotta believe they may be easier to get access to and mount. Once up, well, the TV is secure and this is fine for its purpose.

5 out of 5 stars King of the Wall Mounts   August 29, 2008
greycoat (down south, USA)
After much research, I finally settled on this brand of wall mount. Partly because of price, and partly because of the other reviews I had read. This mount was used to go on a wood stud wall, 16 inch on center, to hold up a Sharp 42" LCD Aquos set. Although the picture on the ad is different from the actual mount you will receive, you needn't worry. It's more than enough. Installation is a snap, instructions are clear, it's well made with all the extra parts you'll need. I took my time on the install, and by myself, was done in about an hour. Got some help to hang the TV and was kicked back watching "No Country for Old Men" on blu-ray in a few more minutes. No complaints here. If you buy one, you won't be singing the blues.

4 out of 5 stars Sturdy, very flexible mounting system, instructions could be better   August 28, 2008
J. Herring (Rochester, MN USA)
After having my 40" Sony LCD for 3 years I decided to mount it on the wall to save some space in my study to make room for a home theater system. Did research on Amazon then went to the Peerless website, which had my TV listed and confirmed that this was the mount for me. Very simple, sturdy construction with a wide variety of fasteners nicely packaged so I just needed to find the size that fitted the back of my TV.

Placing the mount itself on the wall was simple - the kit came with 4 heavy duty lug screws to secure it to the wall. The instructions were very good about how to measure and place the mount on the wall. Even someone who hasnt attached things to studs before could do this.

Attaching the brackets on the TV was pretty simple too, and I preset the ratchet and set screws to what I thought would be about the right angle. That was key, because once its on the wall, its very difficult to get back there to set stuff. Mounting the TV on the wall bracket only required me and a friend, and centering on the wall was pretty easy. Getting the set screws on the bottom bracket tightened required a flashlight and a very long screwdriver.

My only complaint was with the instructions. They had limited diagrams and forgot to mention you have to take out a locking nut that limited the tilt angles. Once I removed those, using the rachet mechanism was very straightforward.

Even with the knock on documentation, I think the simplicity and sturdiness of this mount (especially at the price I got it from Amazon) should make this on anyone's short list.
