Loaded with Parabens/ toxins ** research Parabens ** August 27, 2008 ILuv2shop (The burbs) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Parabens are preservatives widely used in several cosmetics. Parabens, also known as Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Proplypareben & Butylparaben, mimick an estrogen like effect in your body which plays havick on your endocrine levels which regulate your hormones & thyroid. Levels of parabens have also been found in breast tumor biopsy samples. Infact 20 out of 20 showed levels. The fda is now funding studies to see of there is infact a link. There's Hope for me August 19, 2008 A. Perkins I'm confused by the negative reviews of this product: it has been one of a rare few I can use on my skin and not have it turn red, flakey, and irritated. I have never noticed an overwhelming smell. I find it barely noticable. I have very sensitive skin. I can not wear 95% of the makeup or other beauty products I've encountered (it really is rare to find one that does not give me a reaction). I was hesitent to try Hope at first because my wallet can be more sensitive then my skin. I'm glad I did. I have never had an issue with it. As another reviewer mentioned, I have found this product to give me the most bang for my buck and is the only product I use on my face. My two ounce jar lasted about 8 or 9 months. In my experience, a little bit goes a long way. My skin soaks it right in and it has a beautiful, dewy look. It is soft to the touch and while light weight, this moisturizer is still tough enough to tackle winter skin when parts of my face want to get scaley. It's never left my skin greasy. I have been nothing but pleased with this product and would recommend it without hesitation.
Confused by the Negativity on this Site August 13, 2008 D. Todd I've used this product for about 6 months, and I think it is fabulous. It is really light and while it does have a mild smell that reminds me a little of old-fashioned cold cream, it really is mild and goes away as soon as it dries on your face. You do have to wait a bit to apply makeup after you put it on, but that isn't a big deal. I just get a cup of coffee while I wait. I really love this product. I've never got a rash or watery eyes or had it make me break out, and it is very soft. My skin is very sensitive and I get acne, but I've never had a problem with this product. I'm confused as to whether there was a bad batch circulated by amazon, b/c i don't get the reviews here. Also, i can't imagine this product getting flaky near the end as someone said; it is always smooth and soft I'm at the end of my jar now. So, I recommend it completely.
No hope for my skin... August 6, 2008 Nicoletta Carlone (Los Angeles) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I don't get how you can have a one formula for all skin types, it really makes no sense, and I believe that more that I have bought and tried this product. This stuff might be great if you have normal skin, but who really does? My skin is dry, and this product, even with it slathered on did not provide me with enough moisture. My friend with oily skin who used it said it made her break out. Not to keen on the smell or the texture, either.
don't know what the hype is all about August 5, 2008 skincare addict (California) Nothing any different from any other moisturizer, in fact, much less. I used the entire jar and there was no real benefit at all, which is why I wonder why it remains a bestseller in Amazon. All hype, nothing more..
