Pleased customer October 3, 2008 J. Nappi These rechargeable batteries were exactly what we were looking for. No surprises and pleased with product.
Found for less September 18, 2008 Bradley Clarke (Clk,Wa.) Product as advertised, but found locally for less than the online sale price - shipping nearly doubled the local cost. My fault not the sellers.
Overpriced July 25, 2008 Cat's Meow (Pennsylvania) I only ordered these solar batteries from Amazon, because all of the stores in my local area were sold out, and since they are considered a 'seasonal item' they were not replacing stock. When I happened to be out of the area, I found them at half the price Amazon charged.
Don't bother with this outdated product June 20, 2008 NLee the Engineer (Nashua, NH) 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
There is simply no reason why anyone should buy those NiCd (Nickel Cadmium) rechargeable cells for solar rechargeable light applications. For the same price, you can easily find NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) cells which offer the following advantages: - Higher capacity: NiMH AA cells are typically 2000-2700mAh, compared of just 900mAh for NiCd. - No memory effect: NiMH cells are less likely to suffer from reduced capacity when they are partially charged and discharged. - Environmental Friendly: NiMH cells do not contain Cadmium, a highly toxic heavy metal. Expired NiCd cells must be disposed in special battery recycle bins, but most people don't bother to do that. So those cells end up buried in landfill or, worse yet, incinerated. The only advantage NiCd cell has over NiMH is lower internal resistance, which allows it to provide very high peak current in short bursts. That's why NiCd cells are still used in cordless power tools and RC race cars. But in the case of solar rechargeable lights, the battery current is delievered slowly over 8-12 hours. So NiMH cells, with much higher capacity, are far superior as replacemebt batteries.
Batteries May 28, 2008 P. J. Bednarczyk (Albany, NY) Brought my outdoor lights back to life. Thought the Solar cells were dead but it was the batteries. Cheaper to buy repalacement batteries instead of new lights
