An inexpensive alternative to brooms, dustpans, and bending over to get at the last of the dirt pile, the cordless, bagless, yet surprisingly effective Dirt Devil Broom Vacuum is well suited to heavy-duty sweeping and vacuuming on hard-surface floors of all types. Where it really shines, though, is for quick touch-ups--the dog-hair tumbleweeds and stray Cheerios of everyday life. 60% more powerful than the Broom Vacuum's last incarnation, its 9.6 volt motor has plenty of juice for sucking up debris from tile, laminate, hardwoods, and linoleum. Users with bad backs will appreciate the foot-activated on/off switch, and at just 3-1/2 pounds, without cumbersome power cords to trip over, the unit maneuvers with admirable ease. It's easy to see when the transparent dirt cup is full, and the canister snaps off easily for emptying. We recently replaced hardwood floors in our house with exotic hardwood and haven't been able to figure out the best way to keep them clean. This was a perfect idea. The dust, hair, and dirt get sucked in by the vacuum part as you collect with the broom. So far so good! We are planning to buy more as gifts :)
