I really appreciate the feedback given by the previous people. Good info on easy removal of part and its replacement. Thanks

4 out of 5 stars Improvement, but Order 2 or 3   July 9, 2008
E. J Tastad (Marion, IA United States)
This part is an improvement over the 10 or so year old mixer couplers, but it still fails after a few years (but it did last longer than the original). My point is, order 2 or 3 as shipping for me was the same on 1 as it was on 3.

I agree, if you are careful, unplug the blender and you can jam the motor with a small screw driver and use a pair of adjustable pliers to take off the coupler. This is REVERSE threaded, clockwise to loosen.

I decided to fix my Miserable KitchenAid, after reading dozens of other blender reviews and finding them to be even worse. I believe this rubber coupling serves to make the blender quieter, so the design trade off is shorter life for quieter operation. The blender should really come with a tool and a replacement one of these since they are inexpensive.

5 out of 5 stars Great Money Saver!   May 27, 2008

Excellent product. I was scared I'd break my Kitchen Aid so I didn't want to try and replace the part myself. However, the cost to fix it was almost as much as a new blender so I figured- if I was buying a new one anyway it wouldn't hurt to invest $6 to try and fix the old. It worked and it was EASY! They even send instructions. Seriously. If you are looking at this product, buy it. You won't regret it. In fact, buy two.

Product shipped and packed nicely. Installation instructions included. I saved alot of money by purchasing the product from Amazon and installing the coupler myself.

4 out of 5 stars How to get the old one off   March 28, 2008

Like another reviewer said, just unplug the blender, use a long screwdriver to stop the motor from turning, and then unscrew the coupling (in the opposite direction than you normally would). Took about 5 minutes... just had to find the right place to put the screwdriver to stop the motor.
