1 out of 5 stars Didn't last more than 6 months!   July 8, 2008

This iron worked very well when it was brand new. However after moderate daily use (only 5 days of the week) for a little more than 6 months it has started to leak water from behind the ironing plate. It makes a strange crackling sound and drips water all over.

Stay away from Black & Decker!

5 out of 5 stars So far so good!   July 7, 2008
I thought I wanted a Rowenta iron as my old Oreck freeby iron was on it's last leg. BUT as I was reading the reviews, this Black and Decker, which cost significantly less, received outstanding reviews. My mother has a Rowenta that I recently used, and I must say that for the price, this iron is outstanding. I am so pleased with it, my ironing time has been significantly reduced. Thanks to everyone who previously wrote reviews. I am thrilled with your advice and my purchase.

1 out of 5 stars Not working after 6 months.   July 6, 2008

I purchased this iron after doing some research. It had good reviews and it did work well, but after about 6 months, it just stopped working. It lights up and looks like it is going to work, but it won't heat up. Unfortunately I lost the receipt, so there is nothing I can do but just eat the cost and buy another iron.

5 out of 5 stars Great iron for the price.   July 3, 2008
Pros- Plenty of steam, holds a lot of water, digital heat controls, auto shut-off...

Cons- None that I can think of.

4 out of 5 stars Good product but first one shipped was faulty   June 30, 2008
I'm happy with this product except for a few minor issues: 1) The first iron received was defective. Several segments of the LCD display did not work. This makes me wonder about quality and reliability. 2) There is no "cord storage solution." Other manufacturers have come up with ways to make storing the cord easier -- but not Black & Decker. 3) The iron is rather lightweight. In some cases, you have to push down on it instead of letting the weight of the iron do the work.
