Product Description
The Donvier Wave Yogurt Strainer turns 1 cup of yogurt into yogurt cheese, which you can put in a variety of delicious recipes that are low in fat, calories, sodium, cholesterol and lactose. Container seals for storage, as well as during the cheese-making process. Permanent stainless steel mesh strainer. Dishwasher-safe on the top shelf. Includes recipes and instructions.

Amazon.com Review
Consisting of a plastic container and a stainless-steel, fine-mesh strainer, this simple unit converts 3 cups of yogurt into 1 cup of thick, creamy yogurt cheese in about 24 hours of refrigeration. (Thickening continues for 24 hours, though a thinner yogurt cheese results in as little as 2 hours.) The yogurt cheese then becomes a healthful, calcium-rich, low-fat alternative to cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and even whipping cream. It can be used as a spread, in salad dressings, to top baked potatoes, mixed with fruit, and to make cheesecake. The unit works by allowing the whey (liquid) in yogurt to drain away, leaving the curds behind. The container is dishwasher-safe and seals to prevent odor transfer while it's in the refrigerator. Simple instructions and recipes for using yogurt cheese are included. --Fred Brack

5 out of 5 stars GREAT DEAL!   September 6, 2008

The Cuisipro Donvier Yogurt Cheese Maker makes it so easy to make yogurt cheese. This makes a great purchase together with Eat Well: The YoChee Way written by Nikki Goldbeck.

5 out of 5 stars Addicted to yogurt cheese   September 5, 2008

Spread it on toast with jam. use it on fruit as a topping. Mix with olives and capers. This is so easy and cleans fairly well. I have used both homemade and store bought yogurt to make cheese. You won't go back.

4 out of 5 stars very nice product   August 17, 2008

not much to say about this except that it makes making yogurt cheese a snap. It is sized to hold the contents of one of those bigger containers of yogurt.

Place the screened portion in the container, pour the yogurt in, close the container, put it in your refrigerator overnight.. and you have yogurt cheese the next morning. The longer you strain it, the more firm the yogurt cheese.

mix cocoa and a little vanilla with this yogurt cheese, add sweetener of your choice (I use stevia), and you have a delicious chocolate mousse! :)

about the only thing I will say is that you have to be careful cleaning the screen, not to poke any holes in it.

I have not tried the funnel makers (tried the cheesecloth method once, and it was a bit of a pain in the patoot), so I cannot compare this method to the funnel method.

if you don't know what yogurt cheese is, and just want to try some to see if you like it before purchasing something like this, then try some greek yogurt. Fage is a good brand.

I think it is a bit expensive, but I got it as part of a 4 for 3 promotion: http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=108183011 - great way to save some money.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product   July 5, 2008

I love Greek-style yogurt and have been paying a premium price for it at the grocery store. However, since I bought this yogurt maker, I've been able to make my own for much less than what I was paying. The yogurt tastes wonderful and it's quick and easy. Depending on how thick you want it, you usually have to empty out the whey once due to the shallowness of the bottom, but it's a quick 5-second job. I would highly recommend this product if you like the thick, custardy type of yogurt.

Okay. Works as described. Container is not large enough to hold 32 oz size of yogurt, which would be nice.
