The Kreg Magnetic Drawer Slide Mounting Tool simplifies the work of positioning your metallic slides to ensure smooth gliding drawer movement in cabinets. It uses the intersection of the cabinet stile and rail in face frame cabinets, and the cabinet side in frameless cabinets, as a reference point for positioning a slide perfectly parallel to the drawer opening. Simply place a metallic drawer slide into position on the base of the tool, which uses magnets to hold the slide in place, align the tool where the stile and rail meet, and drive the screws for a perfect alignment every time.

 Excellent tool, or is it a jig? September 10, 2008

Seems more like a jig to me, but whatever it is, it works! Consistently excellent results on side mounted slides. I use this with Kreg's drawer mounting brackets and I recommend getting them together. I've used this jig for undermount slides with some good results also. I can find a few more uses for it to hold metal brackets and other pieces square to a wooden or plastic workpiece in order to attach them.

After a lenghty and error prone attempt at mounting bottom mount drawer slides,took the project to school where the instructor introduced me to the Kreg mounting tool. Save your money and your time. Make a story stick and use that instead, in the long run you'll be done quicker with a lot less frustration AND you'll have an extra 30 bucks in your pocket to spend on making the wife happy.

The grass guides I use, which are standard in my area, will only fit one side of the jig.
