Product Description
Kids can tackle the art of fishing with their very own easy-to-use fishing rod. Three simple steps make fishing fun; simply point, cast and reel 'em in. Safe to use, the patented safety bobber hides the hook until it hits the water. The line casts up to 30 feet. Measures 28"L.

Amazon.com Product Description
When you cast it, blast it with the Rocket Rod--the fishing system that accurately casts its line up to 30 feet. Just point the Rocket Rod and let it fly. The patented design and rugged ABS construction will stand up tough to outdoor use. A safety bobber all but eliminates snags by hiding the hook until it hits the water. Once the bobber lands on the water, the lure/bait compartment opens to drop the lure/bait to the desired depth. It features a built-in reel, 6-pound line, and a storage compartment in handle for tackle pack and extra bobber. It's recommended for ages 8 years and older.

Propels unique safety bobber up to 30 feet.

1 out of 5 stars GARBAGE!!!!!!   September 2, 2008
M. Torello
I know kids are hard on things but don't you take that into account when you design something for them. I bought three rods (over $[...] total) and each one them broke down within one hour of using them.

1 out of 5 stars Complete garbage!   July 16, 2008
H. Krentz (MI)
I purchased two of these. One for an eight year old and the other a ten year old. These things are garbage and we actually just gave up exchanging them and they have been sitting in the garage collecting dust ever since. The lines constantly get tangled and they do not stay working for more than a few casts. I would highly suggest that you look at something different for your children.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty Darn good but we did not catch any fish   July 13, 2008
T. Seldess (Somerville, NJ)
This really works and my 4 year is able to use it for the most part. I have to release the safety. We had a little problem at first getting the bobber to open and the hook to fall out but realized our weight had come off.

We used it today for the first time and really enjoyed it.

2 out of 5 stars Cheap Plastic!!!!   July 10, 2008
Anthony Cortez (orange county, CA)
I bought two for my sons for Christmas 2007. One of them broke on the first try of cocking the gun!!! I tried to fix it but realized that the mechanism was made of cheap plactic which had snapped in half. The other gun has continued to work fine after several outings, however, we still have not caught any fish with these. Mainly because the bullet which holds the hook has a hard time opening, and then doesnt allow the hook, bait, and weight to sink low enough to attract any fish. Dont waste your money - we pulled out a cheap rod from when I was a kid, and my kids actually preferred that!!!

1 out of 5 stars immediately broke   June 11, 2008
Erin Pereira (Millers Creek, NC United States)
My daughter was SO excited to get this, but the first time we tried to reel in the casting bullet (EXACTLY as per directions), the line broke and was lost in the reel which I had no choice but to take apart, thinking the line would be fairly easy to recover and put back together. NO. I'm a relatively mechanically inclined individual, and rarely do I give up on a project because I can't fix it, but this was a serious pain in the - neck. I suppose I could replace the reel or spend a few hours messing with it...oh yeah, I don't actually have a few hours to dedicate to that, so...to the garbage it goes. Very disappointing.
