The Butterfly Book: A kid's guide to Attracting, Raising and keeping Butterflies August 24, 2008 twigsoap (southern, Ca United States) Great book! We have it for the older kids (4th grade up) in the family to learn about butterflies for school science projects and home fun. Easy to read to the younger members of the family with lots of pictures.
Companion to "Butterfly Garden" October 17, 2007 L.A. Young (Ventura, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wonderful kids book on "raising" caterpillars. I purchased this to go with the Insectlore Live Butterfly Garden with 5 Butterfly Certificate I also bought from Amazon.com The book enhanced my first butterfly-raising experience... and I'm an adult. The book also describes how to make a container to watch your caterpillars turn into butterflies but I prefer and totally enjoyed my Butterfly Garden.
A how-to and why book for butterflies April 13, 1999 18 out of 20 found this review helpful
I'll share the review I wrote for The Home School Manual ========A Kid's Guide to Attracting, Raising, and Keeping Butterflies. In addition to practical information, this attractive, 40-page book has interesting science information. For example, chemical sensors on butterfly feet allow them to "taste" leaves. 21 species are described with the regions of the US and Southern Canada where they may be found. One sentence I disagree with is. "No one knows why the dinosaurs died out. . . ." 1997, from John Muir Publications
