My Son Loves This Toy! September 10, 2008 L. Lamphere (Wasilla, AK) My Parents bought this for my eldest sons second birthday. he LOVES the tools and he loves being just like daddy when Daddy does something around the house. it was easy to assemble and I have a lot of fun playing it with him. he loves to race the bonus car around the house saying "VROOM VROOM" at the top of his lungs. this is the PERFECT toy. he gets frustrated with the screws sometimes but he'll get it eventually. he loves the power drill that comes with it as well and has cause us to have to rewind movies or tv shows we've been watching cause he insists in using the drill right in front of the TV. All in all it's a GREAT buy!
The best purchase I've ever made! July 16, 2008 DJ Tiff (So Cali) I bought this for my 3 year old son, HOPING it would occupy some time... He has been playing with it for 4 days straight!! He's a brute, and not yet has any of the peices broke! He's taken apart the car and rebuilt it tons of times, sands the pieces, it's been a lifesafer for me, I've got more done in the last few days than in the last 3 years... The best workbench out there!!!
My daughter's favorite toy for over a year now July 13, 2008 Jennifer Ellsworth (California, USA) My daughter received this toy when she was about 2 1/2. She just turned 4 and still plays with it frequently. The tools make realistic sounds and act like real tools. She uses the grinder to "sharpen" all my plastic and butter knives, puts the car engine and separate little car together and takes it apart again, and takes great pride in explaining to adults how to reverse the power drill and ratchet wrench. It is a great height, and has a small enough footprint that it doesn't take up her entire bedroom. And after all that play, none of the pieces have broken. My one complaint: it requires, but DOES NOT INCLUDE, 9 AAA and 3 button cell (AG13) batteries. Fortunately, I had them ready to hand. I suggest if you give this as a gift, include the batteries. Button cells can cost a couple of bucks each at the hardware store, but you can get a 50-pack of button cells here at Amazon for $[...].50 of AG13/357A Alkaline Button Cell Watch Battery
Entertaining workshop for young child January 8, 2008 G&D's Mom (Northern California) My son who is 2 years old recieved this as a x-mas gift. At first i was suprised to see how small it actually is once it's put together. i believe the reccomended age is 3-7 (9?). Right now it's just a little bigger then my 2 year old and shorter then my 4 year old. I can't really seeing older boys enjoying it as much due to it's small size. With that said I do enjoy the low center of gravity it has and my son has yet to knock it over which i was worried about with other models. My son also has a hard time flipping the bench from the car side to the tool side, he can't do it yet without assistance (it takes one person to pull the lever out and the other person to flip the bench). He LOVES all the lights and noises it makes. He loves all the tools that came with it. Beware, there are a ton of screws / nails etc, you'll be finding them all over your house! He also really enjoys working on the car project and taking the tires off and on and the hood and engine off an on. Whenever my husband pulls out one of his tools to work around the house my son immediatly runs and gets his tools to help. We also bought him a tool box (homedepot) to store some of his tools in, so he really like to use both!
The Ultimate Cool Toy January 7, 2008 SoloZ06 (KS) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Being a car guy I flipped when I saw this toy. My 3 year old son has dropped everything and has spent all his time taking the valve cover, supercharger, and various car parts off. Putting it together was literaly a snap. Yes it does take non-typical batteries and a lot of them, but with so many noise/light making tools, that was not a problem for me. Though we've only had this a couple days, the quality of this product seems high, especially after putting together one of those ultra-flimsy "bubble plastic" Kitchen sets. Definitely one of the best toys at this price I've ever seen. 4 thumbs up!
