4 out of 5 stars Exception to the general "good review" for the Ready Bed - Thomas the Tank   December 15, 2007

We bought 2 Thomas the Tank Ready beds last Christmas. Great for ease of use and minimum set-up time. The beds are used by boys ages 3 and 4 years old. Recently we noticed that the beds make a lot of noise when the child moves (rolls over or whatever) - usually awakening others. The problem is the nylon material moving on the vinyl air mattress. Taking extra time and placing a beach towel (long enough) between the material and mattress absorbed the noisy sounds - all slept well again. Used Ready beds prior to this purchase, but the material used in the sleeping bag was a softer type material, not nylon. Would like to see a change - possibly a felt-like coating on the vinyl air mattress.

We bought this for a trip out of town, and it was a good investment. Our daughter, 18 months old at the time, slept on it comfortably without any problems. It was easy to transport, easy to blow up, and easy to deflate when it was time to pack it up again. Its size was compact enough to fit well in our hotel room, and it was lightweight when stored. Our daughter loved sleeping in it because of the colorful picture of Thomas.

We actually ended up taking turns blowing it up manually, though, because the pump is really slow and didn't work fast enough for our liking. It wasn't hard, though, and it didn't take long. I also washed the cover and it washed well and air-dried quickly.

I'd definitely recommend this product.
