survived a fight between my twin boys June 29, 2008 i purchased one of these floaties thinking that my kids could take turns. well, i was wrong. my 3yo twin boys use this float as the rope in a tug of war over who got it, and i couldn't help but be impressed with its durability. we've had the float for about two months now, and the horn is still intact, so perhaps the company has improved its quality control process? i do agree with the other reviewers that this float has a tendency to dip towards the back, but i noticed this happens only when my boys try to use the air-filled backrest as a true backrest. it seems that this toy was designed to assume the rider is holding the steering wheel while leaning a bit forward. for the price, it was much better quality and way more fun for my kids than anything i could find in a store.
DOESN'T HOLD AIR August 10, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have purchase two of these this summer and my daughter never got to enjoy either one. Neither one would stay inflated from the word GO. Swim School has serious issues with quality control. It's too bad because this boat is perfect, in theory, for a larger toddler.
Swim School Toddler: OK but faulty July 22, 2006 As per prior reviews, the steering wheel falls off immediately, so be prepared for this.
Toddler Racer so-so July 14, 2006 We bought the Toddler Racer because we loved the infant boat. Our two year old doesn't really like going in the new racer because it sinks down in the back (the infant model did NOT do this)and the front end goes up. She is a petite child, so weight is not the issue. We also think it came defective because air continually leaks out and it needs to be re-inflated each time we use it which is a big hassle.
Daughter loves it...I'm not so sue about it! July 10, 2006 I purchased this product about 3 weeks ago and my daughter absolutely loves it. I, on the other hand, am a little disappointed. The steering wheel fell off about a week after I got it, although I did figure out how to get it back on and make it stay. When I received this product in the mail the wheel was very wobbly, but I just pushed it on as hard as I could once it fell off and it's in there tightly now. Also, a hole has recently developed in the seam between the seat and the boat structure itself. I put a piece of duct tape over the hole and will be trying it out in the pool again tomorrow. Hopefully it will stay afloat! The horn has also gone missing...can't find it and I guess it just randomly fell off. Hm? Anyhow, the one final thing is that you have to watch your child very closely in this boat. When my 2-year-old sits in it the front of the boat is higher than the back. One day she decided that she wanted to try and get out on her own and literally flipped backwards out of it. Luckily she did not hit her head on the bottom of the baby pool and I was able to grab her before any more damage was done. I have always kept a very close eye on her when she's in it...but these things can happen in the blink of an eye. Overall, I think that Aqua Leisure needs to redesign this product and apologize to anyone who has bought it.
