5 out of 5 stars high quality, low price   July 12, 2008
Maharani (illinois)
a beautiful, fun kitchen for a child. it has everything needed in a kitchen, and yet the size is compact. the price was awesome - a LOT of bang for the buck. i looked at the Target wood kitchen ($99.99), Pottery Barn wood kitchen, and Land of Nod wood kitchen. in terms of quality, this is the best of all 3 stores, and while Target's is a bit cheaper, it is much smaller and is particleboard, not wood. PB is super expensive, and yet also particleboard, and Land of Nod's is HORRIBLE quality and looks (for a lot of $$), though real wood. You cannot beat this kitchen because is it superior quality, good size (not too large and not too small), really cute (some kitchens tend to be really ugly), and very affordable.

5 out of 5 stars Just perfect for the little cook!   March 31, 2008

We bought this kitchen for our daughters 1st birthday. Although developmentally she may be too young to understand the concept of the kitchen, she loves to stand up at the sink and stove playing with her pots, pans and dishes. She loves opening and closing all the doors too. She will definitely get the maximum use out of this kitchen. I debated between the plastic kitchens that make a lot of noise and has more play options but I loved the look and simplicity of this one. I am so glad I made the right choice. It is simple and leaves room for the creative mind. It is really cute too! The age recommended by the manufacturer is 3-8 years old. I would recommend 18months to 6 years. . My 5 year old son is not that big and he is much bigger than the refridgerator.
The only problem with the construction of the kitchen was that the shelf holder in the refridgerator was broken so the shelf could not be put up but we can fix that. Overall I think this is a great value!

5 out of 5 stars great gift   March 22, 2008

It's so much better than a plastic kitchen. Plus it's great for pretend play--better than all of those new ones that talk for the kids. Our child loves it!!! It's something we'll pass down as well. Beware: it takes about 2 hours to assemble but worth it.

3 out of 5 stars Difficult for parents great for kids!   February 26, 2008

First, my daughter and all of her friends love this kitchen. She pretends to cook food in the microwave, wash wooden veggies and heat up her dolls bottles. That being said, it was a huge pain to assemble. Be very very careful as there are 6mm and 8mm screws and if you accidently put the longer ones into the doors, they will pop the coating. I did this twice on the larger door, but not the same hinge. I should have been more careful but either directions that give you a warning to check screw sizes and/or better screw packaging. That being said, my daughter loves it and that trumps dad being frustrated!

Read the reviews on this kitchen before I purchased it so warned my husband it would take a few hours to build. It did indeed take 2 hours but was well worth it (and apparently the instructions were great). Our 2 year old and 3.5 year old have been playing with it all day. We've had a plastic kitchen before (which broke) this is a great kitchen and so far is proving to be very sturdy.
