Amazon.com Product Description
Toot! Toot! Here come the animals, riding around on a musical choo-choo train. This fun motorized train helps babies ages six months to three years learn about animals through song and play.

The Amazing Animals and Their Choo-Choo
Simply place one of the three small friends in the engine car to one of four amusing songs about animals. Baby will love to crawl along with the train as it lights up, playing music and sounds. The Go Choo-Choo also encourages curiosity as the baby figures out how to make it go. Each train car has a unique feature that captures your precious little one's attention and keeps them busy. You can choose between a sitting mode for the youngest baby and motion-activated for older play. Watch out parents, the tunes are so catchy, you'll soon be humming them yourself!

Each animal car is full of rewarding activities to engage baby's attention. The engine car has leaf-shaped beads that slide from side-to-side and the smallest car has a built-in trapeze for the monkey. A light-up smokestack delights the eyes and when pressed the train moves forward in a straight line. For hours of amusement, the animals have movable joints, textured feet, teethable ears, and rainstick sounds. This toy is made from sturdy plastic and can withstand harsh child play. It rides especially smooth over hard surfaces, but works on carpet too. Best of all, should you suddenly feel like you're in a zoo, there is a power-volume control for quiet play. The Go Choo-Choo Train requires three C batteries (not included) and measures 23-by-7-by-13 inches (LxWxH).

Features
It is no surprise that this choo-choo was chosen for Parent's Magazine Best Toys of the Year award, 2006, as well as other prestigious awards. It develops motor skills and helps babies learn to crawl, while teaching them about animals. And these chunky animals are not just cute, their feet are sculpted with various textures for fun exploration and they have teether ears to chew on. This toy also appeals to a diverse age, from babies who are first learning to crawl to toddlers who like to sing along with the animal friends. Plus, Amazing Animals sets are available if you'd like to add to the bunch.

What's in the Box

5 out of 5 stars Great toy for little boys   September 5, 2008
K. Sweet (Buffalo, NY)
I bought this for my son for his 1st birthday and also for my nephew when he was 10 months old. Both children LOVED it. My son is now almost 3 and still occasionally plays with it. It's fantastically durable and still looks like new, even after 2 years of play. I can't wait to pass this down to my grandchildren!

5 out of 5 stars One of the best toys we own! Great for children of all ages.   September 5, 2008
Susan M. Cunningham (Fort Worth, TX USA)
We bought this train when our son was 6 months old, after watching him thoroughly enjoy one at a cousin's house. He loves it and we are thrilled that we bought it. He has played with it ever since, and even more than any other toy he has. Not only that, but every child that has come to our house has enjoyed it, whether they were 6 months old up to 9 years! It simply captivates children of all ages. This thing is super cute and extremely durable. Even after repeated abuse (beating on it, throwing it, standing on it, even puking on it ;), it runs like a top! It even runs great on carpet! The batteries last surprisingly long on it too. In a year and a half, I think I've only changed them twice, and considering how much it is played with, that is remarkable.

It is a noise-maker, with songs and sounds, but there is a low and high volume switch (as well as an off switch) and the low setting is very tolerable. The music is really great--anything gets annoying after it's repeated many times of course, but all things considered, these songs are very well done and I enjoy them.

Just a side note that has probably already been mentioned: if you get all the train cars and hook them up, the engine isn't quite strong enough to pull them all. And then, it may do better on a hard floor rather than carpet--I haven't actually tried that. Nevertheless, that hasn't ruined the experience for my child in any way. He loves this toy, and the animals all by themselves are enough to entertain for long periods.

One more small thing: you have to buy all the rest of the train pieces and extra animals separately. This can get pretty pricey. I have seen a few deals where you can get a couple of cars and animals in a multi set for a better price. We had grandparents and friends who were encouraged to add pieces for my son's birthday and Christmas, so it actually worked out quite well. All in all, this toy gets a A+ from our family, and I would totally recommend it to anyone!

5 out of 5 stars animal train & crawling practie   September 2, 2008
S. Jankiewicz (LA, CA)
My son Conan loves this toy. He was not a strong crawler when I bought this toy for him. After he started to role away from him he would squeal and crawl after it. This has made him a stronger crawler and he enjoys spending hours with this toy. He hung his toy phone to the back making more train cars to play with. It's been three months and he still plays with it. It's one of the best toys I ever bought him.

3 out of 5 stars Cute, gets boring   August 30, 2008
M. Walden
The animals are popular around here (we have the train plus other animals in the series), but the train itself isn't as interesting as they make it sound. It seems like a random selection, even with the different modes, and it doesn't recognize the animal placed in it like some people think (which is really confusing when our toddler puts a giraffe in and it makes ape noises at first). There is music when the smokestck is pushed and animals noises and other music when the thing next to the smokestack is pushed. The songs aren't great; the tune is ok as far as these kinds of toys go but the words aren't catchy enough to learn to sing to. And it only goes in a straight line. Five songs, I think someone mentioned? Not sure, as it's so random we haven't been bothered to pay attention carefully enough. If it hits an obstacle, the music gets all warped and then it stops. Unless you have a huge house that doesn't have other toy clutter, the train won't go very far. And to turn it around usually means all the carts fall off.

5 out of 5 stars Wide Age Range!   August 13, 2008
A. Furr (Bonsall, CA United States)
My 2 year old son has loved this toy since he was 6 months old! It was fun to watch/listen to/chew on when he was little. Now he pretends with the train and the animals. Loads of fun!
