For the Fan of the Show September 14, 2008 John Q. Public (Hear in TEXAS or some were in Europe) If your a collector you'll be glad to find that these are numbered, Box and toys. The quality is decent but the batterys are a pain I beleve that the use of a single AAA would have been easier for instalition and that it would have added weight to the toys their by making it feal as though they were of a greater quailty. As for the pen (a prop having a Minor part in a Single epsiode) I have found that it is not only a pleasure to use but it is a Excelent conversation starter just with it styilish looks. All in all get it for the collector,or get it for the kids, but if you get it for the kids keep the pen for your self.

The Sonic Pen and Screwdriver set is quite impressive. The Screwdriver is the same offered with the psychic paper, though it does not include the UV LED or the invisible ink. The primary reason I bought it was for the pen and, unfortunately, it was slightly disappointing. It's very large - too large to use in common, every day settings without it drawing attention to itself. Sure, it IS a pen that hums and has a bright blue light on the end, so of course it would draw attention. But the oversized nature of the pen is a little ridiculous looking. The pen, though oversized, is still usable and works well. The LED is bright and a very nice blue and the sound is clear, though not as loud as the screwdriver. Personally, I prefer the lower sound, as I can play with it at my desk or in semi-public areas without being annoying. The paint on the pen is a tad sloppy in spots. It looks great from a distance but when you look up close you notice the tip of the pen is just painted on, and the paint is wavy and uneven. The paint on the small silver rings that go around the pen is sometimes uneven and sloppy. Over all, this set will look great on display with my other Who items, and they can be fun for people who want to play with them, but the pen is too big to be practical and the screwdriver is basically the same as the ones offered previously (which isn't a bad thing).
