Fun, but challanging, not for younger children September 13, 2008 E. Kelsall (Kirksville, MO) I bought this for my daughter shortly after going to Disney world. she was very excited about it. It takes quite a while to get all the extra pieces out, I wish that would already be done. My daughter, age 9 at the time, did the base of the puzzle, then gave up. I was left to finish it. She would come in and help once in a while when she seen progress. The directions can be a bit complicated, but once you figure them out it's easy. This looks really neat when finished. We keep ours up and on display at all times. Also, the pic. on the box lead me to believe it was much larger then it really was. It's not very big at all.
Lots of Fun April 6, 2008 Kendra 12 out of 16 found this review helpful
I hadn't done puzzles in years and never really found them to be a lot of fun-- even as a child. However, my two daughters (4, 16) both were doing puzzles recently and, when I was looking for puzzles for them, I came upon this one. My kids absolutely love Disney World and love the castle. So, I thought I'd pick this up for my older daughter to do. Well, she wouldn't do it! Geesh! Right at that very moment she decided she was done with puzzles, so I had to do it myself! Surprisingly enough, this was fun fun fun! It was so much fun, that I immediately bought a Titanic puzzle to do, but when that came I decided that I was done with puzzles, too, and that one's still sitting in the closet unopened. This took a few hours to do and comes with a bunch of pieces that keep the other pieces together. You have to go through them all and throw out all the ones with dots. After this, it goes pretty fast. There are a few pieces that are very much alike and it's fairly easy to mess up for a bit, but once you realize your mistakes, the puzzle is so easy to put together and there is an immediate feeling of accomplishment! These 3D puzzles would make great gifts. And, the variety of puzzles out there are truly astounding! When I bought this one, I did a search and found people collect these and some people have entire rooms devoted to these puzzles-- you can find pictures online (puzz3d dot org). I don't think I'll be doing the Titanic puzzle anytime soon, but the one puzzle I did was definitely enjoyable.
Cindy's Castle February 13, 2008 Debra Brown (Marysville, OH USA) This was fun to put together, after taking all the "trash" pieces out. That took forever! The directions were not easy to follow and my 9yr old son gave up within an hour of us starting this puzzle. It took my husband and I three evenings of working on it to get it completed. We enjoyed working on it and I'm looking forward to getting another 3-D puzzle.
OK...but a little frustrating January 2, 2008 Daniel Holbrook (OHIO) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was my first time buying and attempting a 3-D puzzle. And I must say Ihave my work cut out for me! NO WAY can a child do this alone! The most frustrating part is that the pieces are not ready to be put together. You have to sort through them and pull off the "extra" pieces with the red dots. Then there are levels to add. Maybe more experianced 3-D puzzlers were aware of this but for a newbie it was frustrating! Hopefully it will look great once it is completed!
Fun challenge December 29, 2007 K. Smith (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I enjoy doing puzzles, but this was my first 3D puzzle. Minus the 45 minutes it took removing the bad pieces from the good, it was fun to put together. I probably spent 5 or so hours working on it. There were no missing pieces in my box, but I did find one in my waste pile, so be sure to finish the puzzle prior to tossing any waste pieces out.
