Dewalt DW2535 Countersink Set July 9, 2008 Kenneth W. Logan (Fort Worth, TX USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this set after breaking several countersink drill bits bought at major home improvement stores. Those bits would break after drilling 3 or 4 holes in my composite decking material. I used one Dewalt countersink bit to finish my project, drilling about 50 holes. The Dewalt bit still looks as though it has not been used. I highly recommend this countersink set for any project involving composite decking boards.
the best set out there July 1, 2008 Eduard Lysak (Denver, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I will probably repeat some other reviewers, but I have similar experience. Other sets are cheaper, so you go for them, but you end up frustrated. That's what happened to me as well. This is the best set on the market for general woodworking and furniture building (I am not including specialized bits and screws professional cabinet makers use). The drills are sharp and longer than competing sets, which gives you added flexibility to adjust depth. The collar has multiple cutters (BTW, Hitachi collars have just 1!) and 2 (not one!) screws to hold the collar in place without slipping. The end result is that you can make clean, precise cut every time, without splinters, without fear that the collar will slip. If I had to do it all over again, I would have bought this set right away. Other sets will only waste your money and you will eventually end up buying this set anyway.
3 pc. Countersink Set July 22, 2007 Ray Driscoll (Albany, OR) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
The drill bits are to long if installing screws less than 1 " unless you don't mind a hole on the other side of your work. It would be of benefit if the manufacture provided different length drill bits in the kit.
Best Countersinks Available January 11, 2007 William McIntyre (Georgetown, Indiana) The Dewalt counntersinks are among the best that I have used. the tapered drills are consistent and the 4 cutters on the countersink make fast work, even in oak.
Not cheap, but I love using them. November 20, 2006 Joseph Sacher (Indianapolis, IN USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This bit set is not cheap. However, I would have only spent $10 extra to get them, if I had not tried to get cheaper sets first. I find that I'm using these more and more, from shed building to jig building. I have one of these bits in the cordless drill and a screw driver bit in the cordless impact driver. The collars easily adjust to different screw lengths and the collar don't slip. My first cheap version would slip without me noticing, until I drill right out the front side of the project. That is frustrating. But it doesn't happen any more.
