Great Product - Ships with Accessories !! January 6, 2008 Al Morra Just bought the Hitachi UU610 stand (Tracrac). Didn't think the wheel kit or the entension stop were necessary. Guess What ?? Both add-ons are included in the box!! Isn't life grand....
OK, could be better November 25, 2007 D. T. Lamourine (CT) It's an ok unit. fairly heavy duty. Good for Long term set up. not so good for daily set up and brake down. very heavy! On the up side... 1.This thing is solid. 10" slider stays in place. 2. The locking system is faster and safer than Dewalt's. (lost a saw on Dewalts do to not fully locked in) 3. Has wheels so you can leave the saw on and transport down side of it. 1. fairly hard to get built - setup first time!(plan on a better part of a day) 2. can't leave extensions unlocked because they sag. May times while working I need to quickly slide the ext. arm in or out. when you unlock it the arm twists/sags so the material isn't flat. 3. getting to the locks on the arms can be a pain if you have the ext set so the lock is under the saw. Hard to find one on back. 4. came with wheels but no handle (though a standard cabinet handle lines up, all I had to do was use a spacer so you can get your hand on it) to sum up. if you want light weight, fast, light, easy setup and brake down get the dewalt If you want a nice stable shop stand that you can move if needed, If you can set up on a site in one place, get this.
Great Stand January 6, 2007 David Kuznitz This is a third stand over the years for my business. I've hauled a lot of saw stands into job sites. Overall it is an excellently designed product. Nice design, good fit and finish, very sturdy. The wheels are nice for rolling the stand into jobs. The extension supports are just okay. If anything could use a bit of a re-design Hitachi should start here. I could highly recommend purchasing this stand.
Hitachi UU610 or Bosch TracRac T3B December 10, 2005 lulu (USA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
No worries about packaging and the components were in excellent shape. The assembly of the stand was almost complete except for the wheels and miter saw attachment. I torqued the stand a little too much when attaching the miter saw to the stand and broke the base of my saw. So, this should tell you how strong the stand is. I am a weekend hack and this stand is more than anything I will need but I hate buying junk and always try to the best I can afford. The wheels don't really come in handy because I disconnect the saw when transporting it (too awkward). Also, this stand looks exactly like the Bosch TracRac. If you can get a better deal on the Bosch, you are probably getting the same stand. I purchased the Hitachi UU610 for $149 @ Lowe's (They are discounted from $199).
Packaging is awful - Stand is great May 20, 2005 Richard A. Biehl (Levittown, PA USA) 11 out of 16 found this review helpful
I just put away my auto body tools after fixing the damage to my new (?) miter saw station. I'm inclined to believe the stand was conveyed to UPS in damaged condition: It only came from Carlisle to Bucks Co., PA; and I get at least two undamaged UPS packages every week. Was the weak link the poor Hitachi.TracRac packaging, or Amazon's disregard for customer satisfaction?? Either way, I need the stand, so I'm stuck with damaged goods and an unsatisfactory shopping experience. Now that it's back to its intended shape, the UU610 is a great stand - well designed - well constructed - made in the USA. If you're looking for a stand, buy this one. BUT, buy it somewhere where you can open the package and inspect it for damage (not Amazon). If you know anyone at Hitachi/TracRac, tell them it's time to send their packaging engineer to assisted living.
