Product Description
This new style dust collector will change the woodworking dust collection marketplace. Most woodworkers are looking for the most efficient dust collection system they can find, and the new JET canister filter dust collector, which filters down to 2 microns, delivers the superior dust collection today's woodworkers demand. The disposable clear plastic dust collection bag allows the user to remove debris directly to a trash can without creating a cloud of dust. The canister filter is cleaned by simply turning a handle on top of the unit that will shake the dust away from the filter material and into the collector bag.

Amazon.com Review
With this line of canister-filter dust collectors, JET has raised the bar on how clean shop air can be. To begin with, the new filter design captures particles as small as 2 microns, keeping even infinitesimally small particles out of the air you breathe. The best dust collectors in this price range in the past have never done better than 5-micron filtering--and that was after adding additional filters to existing systems. The V-weave design of the canister filter also yields greater capacity than the more common bag filter. Added filtering area allows for better airflow, so a clear plastic collection bag can be used without reducing the machine's 1,100 cfm. As a result, when the bag is full, you can tie it off and dump it rather than having to empty and reuse a dusty old cloth bag. Another feature we really appreciate is the filter cleaning mechanism. Turning a handle on the top of the filter rotates a cleaning flapper inside the filter, shaking loose dust and debris into the collection bag. Removing the filter and shaking it out or beating it is not required for regular cleaning. This model has a 1-1/2-horsepower motor, comes on a stand with casters, and has connections for up to two 4-inch dust collection hoses. It's a great choice for keeping dust under control in a small shop. i--Brian Trinen/i

5 out of 5 stars Very happy with the quality   July 31, 2008
New England Yankee (Northern New England)
I've bought a fair amount of Jet equipment recently, all of it for the same reason - value. Having bought Jet equipment years ago as well as more recently, I was fully-prepared to spend more on better equipment, but actually found that Jet's prices have dropped and quality has improved! My new Jet Deluxe tablesaw, for example, is better-designed, better-built and finished, and was cheaper than the Jet saw I bought nearly 20 years ago! br / br /When shopping for dust collectors, Jet didn't even initially occur to me. Rather, I was looking at everything from Air Handling at the high end, to Grizzly at the low end. What I found was that Jet was pricing their DC's, like much of the rest of the line, very attractively spec'd and low-priced. As I also found it at a steep sale discount, I snapped it up. br / br /I'm very happy with this dust collector. 1100 CFM is a lot to attach to a single machine through a 10' hose! (which is exactly how I use it - attached to one machine at a time) The only thing I might suggest that Jet change is to incorporate larger better casters, and stiffen up the supports. This collector is meant to be rolled from machine to machine, and a more rigidity built into the design would improve it with minimal cost. br / br /I find it interesting to read the differing opinions on this dust collector's noise level. I find it very tolerable and, like another reviewer, often leave it running while I'm between machining tasks. br / br /Final note - don't get too aggressive with the flappers. Some filter cake build-up will substantially improve the filtration without overly affecting the flow. Once around gently when you change bags should be more than enough. Less often if you're primarily collecting chips and not sawdust.

4 out of 5 stars Dust collector   December 29, 2007

This dust collector appears to be a very useful part of my home work shop. br /It is quite noisy but sucks well. The installation of the bottom plastic collection bag is quite a struggle. br /Jet should look at a redesign to simplify that part. Otherwise the collector is very good

4 out of 5 stars A Good Dust Collecting System   February 22, 2007

A don't know why I waited so long to put a dust collection system into my garage shop, but I am glad I did, and the Jet DC1100CK is a perfect system for me. I can't beleive how quiet it is when running, and the suction power that it generates. It pulls some of my smaller scroll saw pieces 6 inches off the work bench. br /The setup was easy, took about 1 hour. Directions and diagrams were very helpful. I'm not one to usually read the directions, thus the diagrams were really the most helpful. It was put into use almost immediately with my drum sander and router. Didn't take too long for the canister to fill up, and it really wasn't too bad to remove. However, I have since purchased a W1049 Dust Collection Separator, which separators the larger dust particles into a garbage can, which in turn, is very easy to empty. br / br /I find myself leaving the machine on, because it is so quiet. I have a setup with blast gates at each machine, so it is just a matter of opening and closing each blast gate as I work on various operations and projects. br / br /I really wanted a powerful machine, but did not want to special wire my garage with a 230 volt system. This DC works just fine on the 115 volt system. I have it plugged into a 20 amp circuit, with the overhead lights, and have not had one blown fuse. br / br /Of all the research I did, the Delta, Jet, Ridgid and PSI, they all had about the same features and the same price, I'm glad I purchased the Jet system. br / br /

2 out of 5 stars Jet Dust Collector: Good machine, Poor packaging   January 9, 2007

I ordered the Jet DC-1100CK from Amazon on 10/18/06. I bought it because my old 1 HP Delta bag type dust collector only filtered down to 30 microns, and allowed a film of fine dust to settle throughout my basement shop. br / br /It was shipped from Jet and delivered on 11/14/06 in 2 large boxes, both in good condition. The next day when I opened the boxes to assemble it, I discovered that the impeller housing was crushed. It was apparent that this was because the very heavy motor was attached to, and resting atop, the impeller housing. I called Jet and was told they would send me a new impeller housing that day, and I should have it "in a couple of days". On Dec 27 I hadn't received it, so I called Jet again. This time I received the new housing in 2 days, with no charge. br / br /Assembly was easy, and the unit was operating in about 1.5 hrs, including replacing the impeller housing. The dust collector works very well, with no leaks evident, and seems to solve the dust problem in my shop. br / br /I would rate the unit itself as 5 stars, but Jet's poor packaging, long delivery, and slow response to my problem cut my overall rating to 2 stare. I really miss Woodworkers Warehouse. I would have paid a little more, but gotten great service from my local store. br /

1 out of 5 stars Damaged and Slow Delivery   November 2, 2006

I just got mine delivered after waiting 3 1/2 weeks. The box was undamaged but the impeller housing is crushed. I'm very disappointed in the shipping and will have amazon send another, which will take another 3-4 weeks:( br / br /Just got the second one 11/16/06. Every thing looks good. It only took about an hour to assemble. Run great, only a small leak where it is spot welded. I will fix it with caulking. I noticed that it was shipped directly from the factory.
