Product Description A powerful 1-1/2-horsepower motor combined with rugged construction and 50-inch Accu-Fence system make the Artisan 10-inch table saw the premier table saw for the contractor, craftsman, or home hobbyist. Other features include the T-slot miter gauge, which increases accuracy and flexibility in stock width capabilities, and solid cast-iron extension wings, providing ruggedness for increased accuracy and longevity. The unitized wiring system is readily removed for portability. Shown with optional mobile base.
Amazon.com Review This saw lives up to Powermatic's reputation for rugged construction and unrivaled performance. The cast-iron tabletop and its two wings are ground to a mirror-like finish with amazing accuracy in flatness. One thing we've always liked about Powermatic's saws is the left-tilting arbor. Tilting the blade to the left--away from the fence--eliminates the need for a sacrificial fence and reduces the risk of the piece binding under the blade. The 50-inch Accu-Fence that comes with this package is easy to use and as accurate as we could hope. An interior spring applies constant pressure when not locked down, which takes the slop out of fence movement, improving speed and accuracy. It also has replaceable sides with easy-access screws. Users can adjust the sides so close to the tabletop that laminates will not slip underneath. Powermatic has also made it easier to align the fence rails parallel to the tabletop, making initial setup of this package that much quicker. Another advantage is the longer bar of the T-slot miter gauge, which allows users to crosscut wider stock. The Powermatic 64 is a great choice for the home shop and contractors who need a stationary saw. Shops that regularly produce cabinetry and other large projects will want to consider a step up to one of Powermatic's 66 series saws. Overall, Powermatic table saws are top quality, and are built to the tightest tolerances in the industry. i--Nancy Gleason/i

Best Contractor Saw December 6, 2006 Mr. Matthew W. Hafner (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have used them all; Jet, Delta, Grizzly, etc. This is by far the best contractor saw that I have worked with. When you buy this saw, you get all the best of a cabinet saw (fence, stability, etc) at a contractor's saw price. I recently owned the Jet saw that is supposed to be identical, and the Powermatic stands head and shoulders above. There was nothing wrong with the Jet, but the Powermatic is just much smoother.

Unacceptable February 25, 2006 Sue Livingston 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
We sent our son a powermatic saw for Christmas. When it arrived and when assembled the table was way out of tolerance. br /So he called Tool Crib and arrangements were made to return the old one and send a new one, which you very nicely did. That one was more out of tolerance than the first. So he called and both saws were picked up at the same time. I have an email which states that you will credit us for the saw. He (son) has made other arrangements for a saw. We do most of our tool business with you and are sorry that this happened, which I am sure you are also. Perhaps you received a bad batch of saws from Powermatic. Vernon Harrington
its allright February 4, 2006 T. Sawasky 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have had this saw for three years now,all in all it is a pretty nice saw but it does have some issues.I am very picky on my machine accuracy and i always have to fiddle with it to get it to be as accurate as i want. When I first got the saw it had a terrible vibration and couldn't figure out what the problem i called customer service and they sent a tech right out to my house of course he found the problem right away it was the one thing that i overlooked, the pulley on the arbor was never tightened down to the shaft upon assembly at the factory in taiwan.all in all i kind of wished i had bought something else but at the time it was the only left tilting saw on the market besides the crapsman.I think if i were on the market right now i would go for the jet supersaw with the fully enclosed stand and sliding table i have had a chance to inspect this machine firsthand and man what a nice piece of equipment.

Accufence: Nothing fit w/out drilling, tapping, and/or grinding. I purchase harbor freight grizzly cheap chinese out of necessity and have never had this much trouble. br /6. For the money find another product. br /7. This review is one of two(the first missing delivery: I am writing about the assembly, not the function.
