We started counting all the uses for this little dynamo, but we stopped at 967. We like it for delicate tasks and finer work because it isn't as powerful as its big brothers, so it's easier to control. It's light, extremely maneuverable, the switch is exactly where you want it and heck, it's just plain fun to use. It's perfect for jewelry, electronics, tiny woodworking crafts like dollhouse furniture and other intricate hobbies. It uses Dremel's wide array of bits, so there's virtually no limit to what you can do with this. Sure, there are store brands on the market for less, but Dremel is king when it comes to rotary tools, and we think they outdid themselves with this one.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

5 out of 5 stars Great for Dobermans nails.   July 23, 2008
R. Ruston
i got this for the sole purpose of sanding down my dogs nails. He's a doberman, so he has very big nails, and they've gotten quite long due to a "shy" vet tech that wouldn't touch them. She finally told me i should file his nails till we got the quick to move back. Well its not easy find a file big or strong enough for these nails. So i turned to this. After looking at the more expensive ones you see on tv, with the little shield on it, i thought i was gonna have to pay a fortune for one. But i saw this dremel and decided to try it. It stays powered up for the longest time, i've used it for 4 5-10 minute sessions, and am just now recharging. Also its very quiet. The only thing i can think to compare it to, noise wise, would be "personal toys" and this is quieter than most of those. My dog is very flinchy, and doesn't like a lot of things, but he didn't budge when i turned this on. Also the sanding peices it came with seem to be holding up very well. I would buy this again anytime. One thing i would say, is make sure you read how to use one of these on your dog, so you don't hurt them. i read an article by DoberDawn. It was a great help.

5 out of 5 stars I love the Dremel!   July 22, 2008
Dog Lover (Washington D.C.)
This tool is the best. I'm not good with tools but this one is easy to use and has helped me with a few fixes around the house in the first month since I purchased it. I even used it to file my Boxer's nails!

4 out of 5 stars Better than Clippers ....   July 20, 2008
Emma J. Reeves (UK / US)
I got this product for my 9 year old husky/collie. Historically she's been an awful recipient of my attempts of animal pedicures. With this product I was able to get her nails down to a respectable length without causing damage to her or myself. I only did her front paws and once I started she was initially skittish but settled down and let me continue until finished. It's not a bad idea to wear glasses to protect your eyes from the debris, I also used a fan in the area.

4 out of 5 stars ARTICLE ON HOW TO GRIND A PET'S NAILS pleasantly!   July 13, 2008
Fairy Dogmother (Hawaii)
I've used my dremel on my dogs for years. It is noisy but strong, reliable and fairly comfortable in my hand with no cords to get tangled up in. Great company, great product. Reviews suggest the Oster grinder may be quieter but it is corded and I like the flexibility of the cordless. I often use it outside in a peaceful setting.

This ARTICLE should help to make the experience more pleasant for everyone - no matter what grinder you purchase:

4 out of 5 stars Good Enough Tool....   July 9, 2008

but it would be helpful if the motor was quieter. I'm using it to grind my dogs nails and they are a little afraid of it.
