Product Description Battery-powered sensor detect water leaks and sound immediate alarm. Protect your home against costly water damage and dangerous toxic mold by catching water leaks early. The Water Warning Leak Detection Alarms are battery-powered sensors that can be placed almost anywhere. They emit a loud alarm the moment their stainless-steel sensors touch water, alerting you instantly that your home is in danger. This package of five can protect up to five different appliances or areas of your home. Since each sensor can be placed upright or flat, a Water Warning Leak Detection Alarm can fit easily and discreetly at the base of water heaters, sinks, or toilets, as well as near plumbing connections or hoses, any water-using appliance or device that has the potential to leak and cause damage. Their stainless-steel sensors won't rust or stain your floors. When a Water Warning Leak Detection Alarm senses water, it sounds its loud, 110-decibel alarm intermittently for up to 3 days, so even if you're not at home when it first senses water, you'll know as soon as you arrive. The Water Warning Leak Detection Alarms are powered by the included 9-volt batteries. Protect every water-producing area in your home.

Works OK but has a repeating beep every 2-6 hours October 24, 2008 D. Anthony (Dallas TX) I had to box all these up and send them back. I found that they produced a single beep on the average of every 4 - 6 hours which became very irritating especially in the kitchen since they were all concentrated in this area which is also near the laundry. I even put them on a sheet of plastic and wax paper as well, thinking that maybe the concrete, wood or tile they were resting on was conducting enough electricity to cause them to do this. It wasn't. Maybe mine is a bad batch or maybe the single small beep 4 times a day or more from each one may not bother anyone else. Not trying to tell you to steer away, just be sensitive on this so you can return them before the window closes if it is an issue with yours as well. br / br /I am going to buy a different brand. I'll pay more but sorry Smart Home, I can't live with this irritating beep.
good product September 17, 2008 Frank Hatch (Elk Grove CA) I've had two potentially serious , water leak incidents since aquiring this product . br /Both were stopped early and fixed thanks to br /these alarms . It's cheap and effective br /insurance . Make a note to change the br /batts once a year .
WOW!!! 1 day after installing it, it sounded an alarm. September 16, 2008 Michael M. Mina (Newport News, VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
1 day after receiving the water leak sensor, it sounded an alarm from under the sink. I said no way there is water there, I went and checked it, lo and behold, there was water splashing from the sink when washing dishes. I will caulk the area, and hope for the best.
Good value, but included batteries are not alkaline type August 9, 2008 Steve S. (Newbury Park, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wished I had one of these sensors under my kitchen sink a couple of months ago. Had a leak and by the time I noticed it my wood floor was damaged. These sensors would have warned my prior to damage. The included 9V batteries are not alkaline type so you may want to replace them after a few months of use.
We can't hear it upstairs.... March 20, 2008 Lynn (Mansfield, OH) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We really love this product and a package of five is absolutely wonderful. It definitely works. However, we live in a ranch style home and enter the basement through the garage. We can't hear the alarm in our house. We've had a copious amount of rainfall and snow recently, and it seems every time we turn around there's a flood warning. We got a little water in our basement, the alarm went off, but we didn't hear it in the living area of our home. I'd give it 5 stars if we could hear it when it goes off.
