3 out of 5 stars Package not clear on usage   November 9, 2008

I'm sure this would have been a good product, but the appropriate surfaces were not well explained on the package. This product cannot be used on stained wood with no varnish. It may be obvious to some (and makes sense after thinking about it) but it didn't specifically list "stained wood" until you open the package. It does say that it is not for unfinished/unvarnished on the outside, but I didn't consider the bare-stained wood. And I'm sure the heat from the hair-dryer wouldn't be good for the stain. I'm glad I didn't try it out. br / br /Had it been clear from the start, I would not have purchased the inappropriate product.

5 out of 5 stars held up all winter   March 25, 2008
braiding one (Fort Defiance, AZ)
I tried this product because it was less expensive than other brands. I have nothing to compare it to in the sense I've never used the more expensive brands prior. But the directions were easy to follow, the tape and plastic stayed taut all winter, the breezes were alleviated, and my heating bills were half that of my neighbor in the adjacent apartment even though I didn't freeze. I'll use this brand again next year if it's still the best price.

1 out of 5 stars Read the fine print, if you can   March 1, 2008

This product is labeled as a "5 pack", which implies it is 5 packs. Instead it is enough to do 5 windows, depending on size. It is not a value over the identical product sold in any hardware store. The fine print that tells you it's for 5 windows is too small to read in the online picture. I wasted my money when I could have gotten it locally for the same price.

it works, just read the directions and you won't have any of the problems that some others posted

4 out of 5 stars insulation   February 8, 2008

it does what it says it does! tape doesn't always stick to window seal very well, but have some patience and it helps
