5 out of 5 stars I'm saving electricity $$$$ and I have more hot water!   March 1, 2008

I added two of the "Thermwell Prods. Co. SP24 Water Heater Insulation Top" pieces along with the; Thermwell Water Heater Blanket to my 80 gallon electric water heater ("Thermwell Prods. Co. SP60 Water Heater Jacket" - which fit my 80 gallon water heater perfectly with no trimming). It was very easy to install the items and what a cut back in the amount of electricity I was consuming. I was running out of hot water with the six of us all the time. Now I have hotter water and more of it along with electrical savings. My heater is only about 4 years old and is one of the newer ones that has the extra insulation built into it, so they said I wouldn't need any additional insulation blanket on the water heater. After doing some research lately due to my water heater electric bill and running out of hot water, I decided it was a cheaper fix then adding another water heat to see if it would help out. Wow, did it ever, I noticed within an hour after putting the blanket on that when I put my hand between the blanket and the heater there was approximately 20 Degrees F difference. These items are going to save me $$$$ and also gave me hotter water. br / br /Another added not: br /A few weeks later I added a ELECTRIC POOL TIMER to my electric water heater and added another very considerable savings on my electrical bill. br /
