Hunter 90022 Century 12-Inch Performance Oscillating Fan November 20, 2008 D. Gouws (Texas, USA) This is a very pretty fan, and the construction seems to be very good. Glossy black paint over smooth metal. I planned to use it in my bedroom (I have a small house). However, it is quite noisy, and I am not sure I can sleep with it. Will try it in Summer, perhaps I can get used to the noise. It is also a little smaller than I expected. Nevertheless, it is very good looking so if you are looking for something interesting to display to visitors, this might do.
Great Desktop Fan October 30, 2008 Samuel T. Steinmetz (New Orleans, LA) This fan is compact, but packs a powerful "punch." A multi-speed fan that rotates, and can be felt through an entire room. Works great, but also looks great. We purchased two of the Black, and they fit in with every other piece of furniture we have without standing out like the old white, plastic fan we had. I would recommend this fan to anyone who wants an elegant looking piece that is also practical and meets your needs.
not t-o-o-o good September 6, 2008 William L. Mcgee out of the box, the fan looks great but had an odd sound and a vibration at a certain point in it's oscillation. other than that it ran fine for a couple of months. then it stopped oscillating. apparently the housing is not aligned correctly and the oscillating control knob binds on the housing. i would not recommend this fan to anyone....
Excellent, Quiet and Classy August 30, 2008 -TMcN- (Snohomish, WA United States) I like fans, and have a lot of them. I have four ceiling fans, box fans, Vortex, plastic and metal fans. My goal with the Hunter was a classy looking quiet effective fan, roughly in that order. Having a fan that would outlast the typical plastic fan was a goal too. br / br /The Hunter is VERY classy looking. I have a similarly all-metal Optimus fan that doesn't look nearly as nice; the Optimus has more visible creases and looks more like it was made of stamped metal. The finish on the black Hunter is just beautiful. And of course no plastic fan can touch the look of a metal fan. Especially not the Vortex. br / br /The Hunter is also quiet. It's a smidge quieter than the Optimus, perhaps due to the smoother blade curves, though the Optimus isn't that noisy. Again I find fans with plastic blades to be pretty noisy in comparison, including the Vortex although it's not as bad as some. br / br /The Hunter moves a good amount of air also, although here the Vortex is probably ahead because the Vortex moves the air over a wider angle. If you don't want the fan oscillating but do want a very wide breeze, Vortex is the way to go. (Or a plastic box fan, if you can handle the noise.) But in my office I prefer the Hunter because it's quiet, classy and the air movement is perfect.
Disappointed August 20, 2008 Big D (Massachusetts) The quality of this product has really deteriorated. I bought one several years ago that works like a champ. I bought two more recently. One died within a few days - it just stopped working. The second lasted a couple of weeks, and now no longer oscillates. It just clangs and shudders.
