Amazon.com Product Description
Equally suited to entertainment and utility, the Timex T617S is perfect for any bedroom or kitchen, offering accurate auto-set timekeeping, CD and radio playback, stereo speakers, onboard nature sounds, and an external audio input. The unit's stately silver finish and translucent CD door add visual touches of class, and its versatile CD playback modes include repeat and random play. Once plugged in, the clock will set itself, drawing on its factory-installed 100-year calendar (year/month/day, 2000 to 2099). The clock will even self-adjust for Daylight Savings time and leap years.P It features a programmable sleep mode with independent sleep volume, too (select 15, 30, 60, or 90 minutes), so you can drift to sleep or wake to your choice of a favorite radio station, a favorite CD track, or any of the unit's 4 nature sounds: ocean surf, rushing brook, forest spring, and wind chimes. The T617S's 2 alarms each function independently, so both can be set for either the same or different wake signals.P For radio listening, you'll enjoy drift-free digital PLL (phase-locked-loop) tuning with 12 preset stations for 1-touch tuning convenience for your favorites (6 FM, 6 AM). Use the clock's handy Smart Knob to quickly and easily adjust all settings and major functions.P Ideal for a portable MP3 player or cassette player, the T617S's auxiliary audio input broadens your listening options to include any source you deem appropriate. Hookup with portable audio devices is a snap using the supplied stereo minijack-to-minijack audio cable.P And, just to make sure you never miss an important appointment (if only some quality time with your shower or morning coffee), the clock also comes with Timex's Sure Alarm battery backup. Just install 3 AAA batteries (not included) to activate this feature. In the event of a power failure--or if you disconnect the AC power cord to move the clock--Sure Alarm will maintain your clock and alarm settings for the life of the batteries, ensuring that the alarms will sound at the appointed time (while operating on battery power, the alarms will sound only as buzzer).P bWhat's in the Box/bbr Clock, FM wire antenna, a stereo analog audio interconnect (minijack to minijack), and a user's manual with warranty information.

5 out of 5 stars Still going strong 2 years later...   November 29, 2008

We have had this alarm clock/cd player for over two years now and still love it. We especially like the fact that you can set two different alarm times on it, and the sound is surprisingly good. This is a good, solid CD clock radio and easy to hook our Zune mp3 players up to. You can set the alarm to wake up to normal alarm noises (i.e. ridiculously annoying but effective), the radio, or nature sounds. I'm actually buying a second one for my office for the clock/cd/mp3 line-in features! Definitely a good purchase and highly recommended!

4 out of 5 stars Good Value   November 29, 2008
Kaiser's Dad (Chicago, IL USA)
We bought this for our baby's room so we can play music for him to go to sleep. The blue light doesn't bother him and the unit has plenty of functions (although we rarely use the nature sound feature). Big buttons make it easy to operate in dim light. The only problem we've had is that it doesn't seem to want to play burned discs. On the other hand, we can work around that because the unit has an MP3 connector. In all, a fine product and good value.

4 out of 5 stars This clock does everything but cook dinner   November 25, 2008
J+J (Florida)
I liked this clock so much, I bought a 2nd one as a gift for a family member. I love it's ability to place cd's and mp's and also use the nature sounds at night and STILL have the alarm go off without interruption. It has 3 adjustable light brightness options for those who hate the clock light when sleeping and the snooze is nicely placed so you don't have to hunt for it. This is a top quality alarm clock!

4 out of 5 stars Good buy!   November 16, 2008

Works fine. A little bulky, but the convenience of a combined radio and CD player is nice. The double-alarm feature is great, and I like the nature sounds. It's a good produce, and inexpensive. What you see is exactly what you get.

1 out of 5 stars Avoid it like the plague!   November 7, 2008
CJ in AZ (Arizona, USA)
I should have listened to the gazillions of other disgruntled customers, but it was the only product that had the combination of features I wanted. What a HUGE waste of money!!! br / br /The thing didn't work from the beginning. One speaker constantly cut out, but I had decided just to live with it. But within a month the so-called "Smart Knob" quit working entirely. Now the thing is useless - can't set the alarms, can't change the volume (permanently set at an inaudible "1"). What's the point? Can't use it as an alarm clock, can't use it as a stereo. br / br /It's going in the garbage! br / br /Do as I say and not as I did. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!
