With 4,100 Btu's those temperatures apply to larger work surfaces farther away from the unit, too. Was disappointed in that the Heat Gun did not put out more heat and the fan did not blow more are, but over all it I was able to do the project I bought it for. Would search for a more poweful one the next time.
