This works better than most other similar products July 8, 2008 Pancake (San Rafael, CA United States) I have tried several other similar timed wall switches and this one works the best. I have had it for a couple years now and it works like a champ. Its not pretty, and a little clunky to program and use but its the only one that hasnt broken down on me so far.

Got this for our front entry and walk lights (all same circuit). Wanted to always have the front lights on when it was getting dark. It saves us from having to turn the lights on every day. Another thing not to have to remember; nothing like electronics doing the work for you! As the description says, it's great for two reasons. First, if we are coming home late, the lights are now always on, which is handy for seeing our way into the house. Second, with the lights always coming on automatically, we aren't advertising when we aren't home. br / br /The display screen (which is backlit in a phosphorous blue when you hit any of the buttons), shows 24 hours in 30 minute increments: 48 small hash marks. br / br /The unit has one large button, with three smaller ones below. The large button is an on/off switch, if you want to manually override the timer. The three lower switches are for setting up the timer. The left button advances the cursor along the 30 minute interval hash marks. The center button toggles these hash marks as "turn light on during this interval". The right button is for setting the actual time, which is a second cursor that moves along the 30 minute hash marks. When the switch is on, the red LED lights up. br / br /With these 30 minute intervals, you can turn the circuit on/off in any of these intervals. So you have complete flexibility as to when and how often you want to cycle the circuit. On the down side, since time is based on these 30 minute intervals, you cannot get it to turn on/off exactly at 12 noon or 4 o'clock. But I haven't found this as an issue. br / br /It was easy to install, though unsurprisingly the back of it is pretty voluminous and fills a lot of the gang box. If you've used leviton electronic dimmers, it's a touch bigger than that size. I had to shove the wires around a bit for it to fit. br / br /I've had it for five months, during which I've shut its circuit breaker off several times while doing other things. It remembers all the settings while the power is off, so that you don't have to reset everything. br / br /Overall, great product. Trouble free. Very finished look. Recommending it to all my handy friends. br / br / br / br /
