3 out of 5 stars old school solution for modern problem   November 14, 2008
Miguel De Anda (Los Angeles, CA)
very neat and cheap device to get my cable box and ps3 to both work. its not a big deal that its not remote-operated. it may be my cheap olevia tv or this switch, but when the ps3 "fades" to white on many games, the tv thinks it loses signal. i never saw that when using cable box alone before, only since i got this switch. it only happens on ps3, so it might be a ps3 thing. its compactness makes it hard to manage all the cables behind it, quite unsightly unless you hide in media cabinet.

3 out of 5 stars Great product, while it lasts.   July 27, 2008

Bought this product a little over a year ago, was easy to install, worked great. After about 6 - 7 months, the third button wouldn't stay completely down, and rendered that input unuseable. After another 6 - 7 months, the 4th input died as well. I'm now down to 1 component input, and the 1 composite (which I don't use). br / br /I might buy another one since it's cheap, although I'd rather get one with a remote.

This is a great device. It is quite cheap and easy to use.The main advantage I found is that there is no loss on the picture quality. br / br /I have a SD TV,with a PS1,N64,PS2,DVD and a PC.The TV has video component and it simply looks great, because I bought too a Monster component cable for it. br / br /But my complain is the weight of the device, very light. br / br /Anyway,where I live it's impossible to buy a video switcher with video component. So,I'm happy with it.

4 out of 5 stars Very good functional switch   June 4, 2008

While it does tend to tip backwards if you plug too many wires into the back, if you can get over that annoyance it really is a good product, No loss of picture quality, easy to switch between different inputs. (btw...i solved the rear tipping problem like this: if you have enough slack in your AV cables, put the extra slack under the plugs to help prop up the rear)

Connected my DVD player, Wii system and digital cable box to my hi-def tv. Works fine!
