We know it sounds cliched, but we have to say it: The Dremel's capabilities are limited only by your imagination and innovation. The MultiPro rotary tool is the handful of power behind a thousand uses, with supreme control and ergonomic comfort and, truth be told, its tremendous fun to use. Its five speed sets range from 5,000 to a router-like 35,000 rpm, and combined with a seemingly endless array of bits and attachments, you can carve, grind, polish, trim, sand, cut a wide range of material, shape, clean, remove grout, smooth, drill, rout, sculpt, sharpen, engrave, strip finishes - kind of like being a superhero with gadgets that never end. p The secret ingredient is the speed. With a bit moving at 35,000 rpm, you don't need to lean into the job at all; on the contrary, we found a light touch to be the most effective, and the tool does the work for you. Control is superb, thanks to a comfortable housing and excellent balance whether you're doing detail work with a pencil-like grip or grasping the tool like a tennis racquet. It's light as a feather at just about a pound, so even working at shoulder height or above is no chore. Bit change is fast and easy; the collet locks with a button and the wrench stores on board. This set comes with 10 bits to get you started, but have a look at other accessory sets too, because once you get this Dremel in hand, it's addictive. You'll want to pick up the flex shaft and right-angle attachments for cramped quarters, add on a router-type base, and maybe even get the stand that turns the tool into a mini drill press. I bought a new one because my Craftsman one had trouble with the chuck, couldn't remove the bit. When I used the Dremel the rpm varied a bit a full which was odd and when I pressed the brush screws it changed so something was up. After using it to cut off some metal I picked it up again and it would not start. I noticed that the brushes were 1/2 the size of the ones on my craftsman. br / br /Took some parts off the Dremel, fixed the Craftsman and my Craftsman is now working like a charm. br / br /Do not buy the Dremel one!!!

this tool does not quit, we have owned one for about four years now and use it on a daily basis trimming away fiberglass, the Dremel 395 is an amazing tool w/ a endless lifespan

Dremel is a reliable and extremely useful tool; and Dremel is a reliable company. I needed to replace a part. I went to the Dremmel website, called the 800 customer service number, and got a real person on the phone. The part was easy to order.

I bought my dremel 395 tool thinking that it would be a nice upgrade to my 5 year old cheap and nasty 20 dollar chinese rotary tool. It isnt an upgrade at all it really isnt and the pretty exterior and attachments dont compensate at all. It has not been as durable or as powerful as the chinese knock off. 15 years ago I knew dremel to be quality but it seems that quality is no longer a dremel trait.

I'M VERY PLEASED WITH PRODUCT, SERVICE PRICE!!!! I've always used Dremel for whatever project I'm working on. Be it Theatrical Props to Personal Projects and whatever may need it. I purchased this one because my other one that I've had for several years stopped working. I don't have any complaints! These units have served me well!
