2 out of 5 stars Some problems with this model   December 3, 2008
Jeffrey A. Pfohl
I upgraded from another Honeywell model to this one due to the increased tank capacity. Well it turns out that this has 2 seperate tanks and when the one becomes empty the other is to take over. The problem is this does not happen and you need to wiggle the tanks to get the second tank draining. A quick internet search showed other users who reported the same problem. br /

1 out of 5 stars I should have listened to other reviews   December 2, 2008

I,ll preface this review by stating that I am a very dexterous person and makle a living with my hands. I put things together very well. br /That said, my experience with the 6012i was horrendous and frustrating. br /From the time it was set up, water continuously leaked on the floor. Made a mess.Tried again. Same result. br /I wish someone could tell me how to get rid of this floor washer. br /If amazon is listening, can I send it back to you folks? Help br /I have to admit though that after many years of shooping at Amazon this is the first time I have ever had a problem. JK

5 out of 5 stars No white dust!   December 2, 2008
Lucy
After years of using and discarding smaller humidifiers that left a thick coating of white dust on everything (especially the TV screens), it is a joy to use the Honeywell QuietCare. It has done a great job humidifying my (1400 square foot) house, and we can really tell when the water's run out. Refilling is extremely easy and convenient, with wide-mouth screw tops for the canisters. Three speeds, as mentioned in the description, are perfect. The high speed is definitely loud (we used it in the daytime, to get us started), and medium speed is fine for regular use, day and night. Low speed, you can barely hear at all. Best of all -- no white dust! My only problem with it is that it doesn't seem to have a light that signals that the cannisters are empty, but that's not much of a problem. This humidifier is highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Honeywell 6012i   December 2, 2008
David C. Dykstra (Columbia, MO)
I purchased this unit after reading other positive reviews. I found it to be better than I hoped. For the quality and price it was a great choice. It is easy to use and operate. The digital settings keep it running independently. And it is so quiet I forget its even there. I have an area of 1800 sq feet that this unit keeps care of with no problems. Great asset for the dry winter months.

3 out of 5 stars WTF   November 21, 2008

One problem with this item. Does anyone else have this problem? Half the time, the unit shuts off after one tank is empty, rather than switching over to the second tank! Many mornings, I have woken up to find the humidifier off - with a whole other full tank sitting there doing nothing! I've done everything the manual told me to do. I even get down on the floor and check for air bubbles to make sure that each tank is positioned correctly every time I do a refill. This is my first double-tank humidifier, is this a common problem with other models? WTF!
