Filter looks different in box than picture shown December 2, 2008 Erin C. Schaad (USA) The filter shown is not the filter I received, although honeywell explained to me that the HAC504A was an acceptable alternative. I would warn against purchasing this b/c I was told they often ship filter substitutions without having to notify the buyer.
GREAT PRICE November 29, 2008 M. MacGregor (Over Here) I thought that I would end up paying every bit of $25.00 or more for a replacement filter for my Honeywell humidifier. I was wrong, found it for only $5.00 and $4.99 s/h! What companies don't understand is that any perceived revenue loss is made up by increase in number of units sold. See, it didn't hurt that bottom line too much now did it? And I am even more motivated to return here for repeat business because I felt like I got a good deal....imagine that?
BUYER BEWARE October 20, 2008 Matthew Mahler 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These filters are generic and NOT made by Honeywell... They are thinner than the Honeywell brand and they are a smaller diameter than the Honeywell brand which means that you have to forcefully put them into place. I still have a good unused Honeywell filter that I compared them to. I emailed customer support and have not heard from them at all. Good luck to you if you order through this company. Will not be doing business with them again.... Thanks amazon.com for putting this slime company on here for me to purchase from.
eh... June 28, 2008 John (S.F, L.A., Phoenix) I bought this to replace a filter in my Honeywell Humidifier. I didn't know that it was generic, is it? Anyway, it does its job in the humidifier in the corner or my bedroom and I'm good! Then again, I wasn't asking much in a filter, so how wrong can it be?
Still wondering if it makes sense May 7, 2008 Javier (GA, USA) The humidifier itself is the best we have so far, quiet and reliable. We purchased it more than 4 years ago. My question is whether or not the filters make sense. I mean, you can buy for less than $30 a humidifier that runs without any filter at all, there are many brands available. While this one will eat up 1 filter every month or less depending on the type (and quality) of water you get at home. We use it only at night, every night, during winter season or as long as the heating is on. I empty the tank every morning and I clean it either with Clorox or diluted vinegar once a week. Still, by the beginning of the third week or sooner, you see the black spots (fungi) in the filter. By the end of the same week it smells. For some reason I prefer this filter over the one we use in another humidifier we have (katz). Although the life spam of both is very similar. br /I want to believe the $7+ I am spending on every filter give us a cleaner humidity than the humidifier that runs without filter. Although so far nobody was able to confirm this to me.
