3 out of 5 stars Trickle size spout   November 28, 2008
Michael H. Young (ILLINOIS, USA)
The overall best solution might already come with the glue. I found the Babe-Bot's spout to be too small, requiring too hard of a squeeze and delivering too fine a bead to be useful for furniture size glue-ups. The small size and easily controlled delivery is better suited to crafts and small projects, where I expect it will be ideal.

2 out of 5 stars Thrown away...   May 27, 2007

I REALLY wanted this to work, I really did. No more shaking the glue bottle upside down, A good cap, an even glue line, good for biscuits.. The first couple of times I used it, it was delightful and worked as advertised. Then little things cropped up. The cap fell off three times under the bench... Cleaning the tip after gluing was hard. Even after cleaning it, the glue spout was glued shut with dried glue (the cap was on tight). So I had to use a pin to remove the stuck glue EVERY time I used it (if it had sat for more than 3-4 days). I let it set for a couple of months and the glue dried down the spout tube. Pipe cleaner just pushed the plug into the bottle. Grumble, grumble. br /The last straw, errr drop, was when the glue was down to a inch or so in the bottle. NO WAY was that glue going to go up the spout! Pipe cleaner did nothing. The spout hole was covered in glue in the bottom of the bottle but it simply would not come out. Put more glue in, of course, but the glue in there was full of lumps and it was my last glue! Still an inch of glue so invert it, except that the glue was mostly in the spout. Rack brains. Stick finger in! too short. Stick pipe cleaner in! Not much glue. So I used a screwdriver to carefully ladle out the glue, enough for a 6 foot glue line with biscuits. Plenty of glue but what a mess. br /So new bottle of glue. Titebond 3 of course. No losing the cap, the tip is easy to clean and any lumps are pushed out by the tab. Even glue line. I have to shake the glue down or leave the bottle upside down but... And when the glue is finished I RECYCLE it and do not have to clean the bottle out! br /

I've been looking for this and didn't know it. After using this small bottle for glue ups I ordered the complete set. This small bottle is great for joinery. I used it for box joints and dovetails with great results. When gluing the joints, the bottle stays upright so glue doesn't continue to come out. A slight squeeze at each joints puts just the right amount of glue there to brush on. br /No more scrapping off the tip of dried glue. The glue retreats back into the bottle and leaves a clean tip. I even forgot to put the top back on overnight and the bottle still worked right the first time I squeezed it the next day. br /The large bottle worked great for joining boards for a table top. I had to glue two pieces together to get the right thickness and then joined several of them to get the width. The large bot bottle put down a uniform bead if both cases with almost no pressure on the bottle. br /If you use glue in your workshop you're missing out with a set of these.
