Where do you PUT them??? October 22, 2008 bagpiper8 (colorado, United States) These are what they say they are: a very tight sounding four tweeter system that can take some abuse but not a whole lot if you crank it above the recommended amount of wattage. At that point, it gets very garbled and as their is no auto/off for distortion on these, you are going to blow them quite quickly or burn them up, one or the other or both. br / br /Overall, however, I think they sound great when used as they should be used: to bring out higher tone in your music when hooked up to a Pyle crossover box. When I launched mine after playing quite a few tunes without them, the difference was oh so clear: I needed something JUST for the high frequencies with the PA system style speakers I have from Pyle, and these worked immediately. br / br /My question (REAL QUESTION) for Pyle or anyone out there, is where do you put them? There isn't a hole in them to put them on a stand as they are too small anyhow, and they look kind of goofy sitting on top of my subs or the other speakers. I finally just laid them on the floor and they seemed to sound fine and look ok, but if anyone has ideas I would really like to see them. br / br /Overall, great product for the price. A grade to A-
Pretty decent for the price December 3, 2007 JK (Dairyland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered two of these from Amazon, and with Prime free shipping, they were $28, total. I intended to gut them and use the boxes to hold some horn tweeters, as these were cheaper than buying either blank cabinets, or the boards, fasteners, and carpet needed to make my own cabinets. br / br /When I got them, I noticed that they were rated at the same sensitivity (97 dB) as my horns, and on a whim, I hooked them up in my system, crossed over at 6 KHz. I was surprised to find that the sound from them is pretty good, airy and clean, but just a tad harsh when driven hard. I'll probably replace the cheapie piezo drivers with the horns one of these days, but I'm not in a big rush to do so. br / br /I can't comment on the durability of the boxes, since I don't move them around. For under $30 for the pair, I presume that the boxes are made out of particle board and wouldn't expect them to hold up under a lot of abuse. br /
