Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Chevy Chase would have wanted it on "Funny Farm"   September 22, 2008
C. Taylor (Gloucester, VA)
My husband is fanatical about the mailbox, sort of like Chevy Chase in "Funny Farm". He has a beef with our mailman, who never shuts it's door, and/or lets it bang on this sturdy post. br / br /He is also worried about prankster teenagers who might play mailbox baseball with our box, or careless neighbors across the street who might back into the box. So, this is why he wanted a post like this, which would stand it's ground! br / br /We have no complaints, after a year the post is standing straight up! Solid as a rock, and weathering well (btw, he used about 150 lbs of concrete to set the box in place). As far as we know there have been no attempts at "baseball", but we're just waiting to hear that tell-tale wham, afterwhich I might feel a little sorry for the slugger, cause his arm will be tingling. br / br /But, nothing to do with the post, the mailman still lets the door slam, and has left it open once or twice... What can ya do?
