Amazon.com Product Description
Head out on the highway with all your gear stored safely in the roof-mounted Thule 867 Tahoe cargo bag. It features an expandable capacity that can accommodate loads from 15 to 17 cubic feet thanks to its reversible expansion zipper. It easily attaches to factory installed or aftermarket luggage racks. The durable, water resistant construction with taped seams stands up to Mother Nature's toughest conditions. Other features include strategically located handles for easy bag handling and internal foam construction to help maintain bags shape for easier packing and cleaner look. When you've reached your destination, it conveniently collapses down to store in its own storage bag. p bManufacturer's Warranty/bbr It's backed by Thule's limited lifetime warranty. The warranty is terminated if the purchaser transfers the product to another person. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cosmetic rust, scratches, or accidents.p strongAbout Thule/strongbr To say that Thule's beginnings in the U.S. were humble would be an understatement. Founding member Ake Skeppner sold products at windsurf competitions on the New England shoreline, exhibited the product line at a number of different trade shows, and even canvassed local retailers in the greater New York area, all from his "office"--a now-famous station wagon. Initial success was found in the small but growing sport of windsurfing where a strong, reliable roof rack was an indispensable piece of equipment. This was quickly followed by success in the ski business where Thule's Swedish heritage certainly helped the product gain rapid acceptance.p By the mid-1980s, the company sold products directly to ski and windsurfing shops but sold through distributors to address the large and growing bike business. A risky decision was made to terminate these distributor relationships and sell direct to retailers through a network of independent sales representatives. Much of the company's market success today can be traced to that decision. Shortly after, Ake hired an engineer and set up a small assembly plant in Elmsford, New York in order to design and manufacture bike carriers that would offer the features demanded by the U.S. consumer and compete effectively with other racks on the market.p The company has since grown rapidly through product innovation, a commitment to quality, and the continuance of a strong entrepreneurial spirit as well as continuing to evolve their products to meet the needs of users.p

If you have a wife, three kids, and never enough room in the car when you are packing for a vacation, then this bag is your answer. The bag itself is well made. The seems didn't appear to stretch at all.

3 out of 5 stars it's okay...   August 31, 2008

If you are thinking about buying this item, take a look at the picture first. Because it is what you are going to get beside the perfect shape. br /The description says the foam holds it's shape for aerodynamics. Yes, I guess if you packed it like that. Just make sure you trash bag your stuff incase it rains...The bag it not waterproof. But over all, short or long trips if you want a cheap cargo carrier this one is pretty good.

4 out of 5 stars Great space saver   August 1, 2008

We bought the Tahoe from Thule because the three teenagers we tote to vacation take up a lot more space. We were able to fit all our luggage for a two-week vacation in the roomy cargo bag. We drove through very hard rain for much of the 500-mile trip, yet our luggage was barely damp. The side hand-holds make it easy to use and the storage bag makes it easy to store. This one costs more, but it's worth it.

1 out of 5 stars Do NOT BUY!!!   July 18, 2008

This bag is so not worth the money. If you are looking to get a car top carrier get one that is plastic. This product is also not water resistant like it states. I will never buy a product from this company again!!!

5 out of 5 stars Works as Advertised   July 4, 2008

We bought the Thule Tahoe Rooftop Cargo Bag for a roadtrip from Texas to Florida. br / br /1. The bag was easy to use, and the instructions were good. It attached right onto our roof rack with no probolem. I had read other reviews and knew to have safety pins (8 to be exact) to secure the excess strapping to the bag, or it will make noise while you're driving. br / br /2. It rained on us part of the way down, but our luggage was inside plastic bags. The plastic bags did get wet, but our luggage was fine. I would say that the bag is weather resistant as claimed becasue there wasn't much water in the bag after the storm. br / br /3. The bag produced drag, and it affected our gas mileage and gas was over $4.00 / gallon at the time. br / br /4. Removing and putting on the bag at each of our stops wasn't a big deal. We only had 2 suit cases, and a toiletry bag in there - so it was a snap to get them out/in, and then the bag off/on. br / br /The bottom line is that if you need extra space in your vehicle, don't have or want to spend the money on a hard top cargo carrier, and probably if you're not driving 1600 miles roun-trip (my opinion that this better for shorter trips) - then this bag is right for you.
