| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Universal MightyMounts are "one size fits all" to almost every factory crossbar. We think you got the idea by now, but just in case you haven't, these bad boys work with your factory rack to allow you to handle almost any Yakima product. We think they're so great, some say they inspired our new tagline. That's not exactly the way it went down, but we do think these suckers are pretty sweet. Adapts some bike mounts, ski mounts, BasketCase, and water sport accessories to factory racks. Universal design allows use of same MightyMount on different cars.

Not Strong Enough September 5, 2008 Jason (Detroit, MI) I bought this to carry my nephew's 20" bike. The first problem was the installation. The manual doesn't include instructions for mounting a Raptor. I emailed Yakima, they sent me the same instructions I already had. I got the Raptor installed, but it rides real high and is not sturdy. It says maximum weight of 30 lbs. I put my bike up there and was truly scared. I'm sure it will be ok with my nephew's 20" bike, but anything bigger won't go. I am going to go with the landing pad set-up for this application. (2008 Chevy Trailblazer)
Not Compatible with Fork Mount Bike Carriers August 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After ordering this product and installing it, I discovered (on another website that wasn't Yakima or Amazon) that these Mighty Mounts are not compatible with fork mount bicycle carriers. They are so flimsy I would be hesitant to use them with any bicycle carriers. br / br /I became suspicious after I installed them and found that the bike was literally swinging in the light breeze. br / br / br /Inside the clamp is a nut that tightens down to merely plastic. One good sidewind gust and that nut is sure to pull right through.
